If you use the 1.0.1.0 you only will gain fake coins. So it might work great but they are not real that is why it works so well you are not fighting for each block. Orphans are normal and no reason for concern.

1.03 still gave me alot more orphans than the 1.1.0
You can run a different version all you want, but there is a chance you will not be able to send coins to anyone (including exchanges)
or receive coins from anyone and all your staked coins may disappear as soon as you switch to an official wallet version.
As other have said: when you are running a non-official release, you are working in an alternative reality and other wallets will reject
whatever you try to send and your wallet will reject what others send, so you may be unable to sync to the network and what you do
cannot end up in the block chain - which is the official register of all transactions.
The current wallet uses protocol version 60017 so it is very likely that your wallet's messages are rejected by everyone else
for being the wrong protocol version.
I am not the dev, but I have worked with crypto wallets for a while.
If you want to avoid losing your coins, switch to the official version.
If there are occasional orphans then that is a good sign that someone else's wallet produced a block at the same time as yours and
their block won this time. You do not see when there was such a fight and your wallet wins - you simply see a new block, but this is
how the network works and stays healthy: the majority vote wins.
I do not know how you got versoin 1.1.0.0 but it will give you problems until the dev makes it an official release and all wallets switch,
only then will your transactoins be accepted, at this moment you are only creating trouble for yourself and others.
NOTE that you do *not* lose money when an orphan is generated, because the next time the same input stakes, it will generate the
money for the *entire* period, including the time before the orphan, so there is no reason to worry about occasional orphans.

No. Clearly he does NOT have a preview of the new wallet about to be released. I don't know where he got this 1.1 version, but it isd WRONG and he should delete it and stop talking about it. Use what everyone is telling you to use. Read the 1st post in the thread.

The nitesend wallet is labeled 1.1.0, i believe, which is also in the op and is a valid wallet.

Thank you Infn8void

Thank you for the information Cor2 , Ill look and find the post that links to the mega download site that has this version I dl'ed v1.1.0.0 from, the link is from this board...doesn't that say something ?

Ill avoid responding to the rudeness that Atlanticvwaves, sovie, mikeyfinn and the rest have decided to venture out with

simply its like this

I hear you, I appreciate the cool stuff COr2, but the rest.....simply you guys - seriously you need to chill the eff out with the amateur script kiddy wonker speak

please I mea\n this repsectfully

IF YOUR NOT THE DEVELOPER  - what you say is 3rd party   Smiley    I would like the developer to simply type a few words and come out and say that v1.1.0.0 is not the version to be on ,

you other passionate guys can simply and soley be (next line)

THanks, that clarifies.
Please note that the OP (The first post in this thread) is authorative, it is a convention among coin discussion threads
that all latest info is posted there.
The Nitesend wallet is *not* there (it was removed for a reason) and only the v1.0.3.0 windows wallet is shown.
The nitesend whitepaper is still linked as a great resource.
Also, the OP is typically posted by the developer or the community manager, so when you read the OP you will find out
who started this community and it also tells you who to contact.
I think you started a bit on the wrong foot here, by asking several times about the v1.1 without answering the questions,
that make you look like someone that is not interested or that is here for trolling (making trouble, not to get help)
That might explain the rude answers you received (I am not saying that a rude answer is good, just trying to help understand)
So, please read the first post carefully and a lot of your questions will already be answered.
Another trick is to click on the github link and see whose name shows up as the owner of that Github for the sources
of the software - that is usually the main developer.

Please note what is bolded. As a general rule you should NEVER download some random link from a post in the thread UNLESS IT IS FROM AN "OFFICIAL" SOURCE. Anyone can post a link to any kind of file/virus/etc. Again, as a rule you will usually find everything you need to know in the OP (original post).

I do not know how you got versoin 1.1.0.0 but it will give you problems until the dev makes it an official release and all wallets switch,
No. Clearly he does NOT have a preview of the new wallet about to be released. I don't know where he got this 1.1 version, but it isd WRONG and he should delete it and stop talking about it. Use what everyone is telling you to use. Read the 1st post in the thread.
My fault - I was not clear and did not want to suggest that there is a preview of a soon-to-be-released wallet, as I have no contact with any dev or other inside info. I was just trying to explain that *even if* there is an unreleased version, it will give trouble *until* the moment that it becomes the official release and others also start using it. But then usually the dev takes great care to make the protocol version compatible.
In this case it appears not so, which can lead to the aforementioned problems (forks, loss of coins, no network connection)
As far as I can see, the SYNC wallet is running exceptionally good - I have in my wallet over 100 blocks staked and only 2 of them were orphans and that was in the very beginning, possibly my wallet was not connected as much since I made a mistake in the config but the wallet corrected that by itself (there was another SYNC wallet running in the same network) so I have never stopped the wallet to correct and it has been running well on a heavily loaded and old Windows XP PC.

Glad it worked for you. You have to understand we have been here since the beginning and answer the same questions over and over because people insist on investing without reading. We are happy to help until someone comes back for 8 posts saying the poi site of what we say works better. This is a community where we all have to help if we want to grow. Sorry if I was rude to you but I hope you understand a little bit why.
