As there are more and more lenders, it becomes unfair to sticky certain lenders' threads, but messy and inefficient to keep lenders' threads un-stickied but in the same subforum as people looking for loans. It is not infrequent to find lendees looking for roughly the same terms I want as a lender, likely due to how disorganized having both lenders and lendees posting in the same subforum.

I propose a split. "Lending" gets split into "Lenders" and "Lendees" - or "Seeking Loan" and "Offering Loan." Loans are different from the typical goods forum in that it's basically one good -- loans, and there is demand both for people looking for loans and people offering loans. It's easy to comparison-shop, unlike in the goods subforum where in three consecutive threads, you'll see maple syrup, a graphics card, and silver. Thus, while it wasn't as sensible to split "Goods" into WTB and WTS, it does make sense to split the "Loans" subforum.

If this is unfeasible or unpopular, I'd suggest either all lenders' threads which offer loans get stickied, or none of them do.

Maybe a subforum for long-term lending offers and lending sites.

I'd be happy with that.

Or maybe it could be split into "Lenders" and "Borrowers" as you suggest, and then the upper-level "Lending" section will be just for long-term offers.

Does anyone else have comments on how the section should be structured?

unfortunately, this might cause confusion, as LONG TERM would need to be defined and agreed upon...

This is best, I think anyway.

Trusted Lenders get a sticky in the LENDER'S Forum, similar to the Pool's Forum.....an add.
OR, being that this is for Financial gain, the Forum could use Stickies as another forum of revenue for Lenders seeking max exposure.

...just a thought....or 2 Wink

Make 3 sections

Short-term loans 1-10 days
Average/mid-term loans 10-30 days
Long term loans 30 days+

Or something similar
