This poll tries to diagnose the degree of alienation the Bitcoin Foundation has generated with women entrepreneurs.

Erm why?

Are women just somehow more sensitive to all the rumors and innuendo? I haven't heard of anyone male or female cashing out because they don't like the foundation.

How about asking women themselves instead of just forming baseless speculation about what they think like a news anchor? Most women I know find it interesting but aren't even into Bitcoin right now to begin with so I seriously doubt you have much evidence regarding this.

this is the wrong place if to ask questions if you are looking for the perspective of women in bitcoin. i think it's too male-dominant right now though, just like our political system and corporations.. not enough women.

1 - womens in general are less interested with investments than mens. Just different gender natural skills and preferences.

2 - whoever(woman or man) that pass through the wall of disinformation involving bitcoin won't be stopped by rumors involving a self proclaimed entity of a decentralized current that by nature can't have no one to speak in its name

I think you are right, but it is interesting that a very intelligent women just resigned from the Bitcoin Foundation. It was her first post after lurking for a considerable time. She finally had enough.

Woman here...and no.

If a woman is HERE or learned about bitcoin at all, she's got the mental capacity to tell the difference between fear mongering nonsense and reality and she is pretty capable of reasoning and thinking for herself.

Now, if you want a more accurate sampling, go to facebook and set your poll...those are mostly filled with oblivious women who'd just as soon make a life decision based on a lolcat than read a bitcoin wiki all the way through. They'd be more apt to let seedy persona drive them away.

Most women into bitcoin aren't governed by the bitcoin foundation, if they even know what it is.

Hang in there we cannot afford to lose you.  Wink The POLL is hinting that we have a 50% chance of retaining women here.

Half the votes (all yesses) are bs...no woman who has a sense of self is going to be run off by cockfighting amongst the btc foundation...

i don't see how the bitcoin fundation's issues are related to women in any way. asking "are people leaving due to bitcoin foundation's seed persona" sounds more fitting.

Bitcoin Foundation is not Bitcoin.

Just as Mark Karpeles (GOX) was on the board of the bitcoin foundation, that should not sway people's opinions on Bitcoin itself.

what a worthlss poll.

there is no way of getting results of female opinion from an anonymous poll.

its not just about not being able to tll which vote was from a female, it also the question itself. why does women mean so much to who leaves.

it seems to me the OP wants women to be in bitcoin as thats the only way he has something in common with a female, to be able to make a conversation with them. and thus he is worried the chances of getting a girlfriend are decreasing.

it seems to me as another possibility that somehow he thinks that if women leave bitcoin he cannot then spend bitcoins on those sexcam websites as he thinks there are only a few females using bitcoin and most are in the sex industry.

in short why even ask a gender question in a genderless economy??

you might as well line 5 snails up and have a finish line 5 inches in front of them and say the first snail to get to the finish line shows that females do not like bitcoin. the result is statistically meaningless

I tried getting friends, family, and people i know to buy BTC.  Most aren't interested.  Most already have an opinion formed before doing any research.  Any negative btc news and people PM me.  I feel people are trying to knock me down and tell me that I am on the wrong side of the fence and they are right.   Now girls can't stand risk.  They want a sure thing and it doesn't surprise me that they don't want to get involved.  I guess everybody wants a sure thing without losing money.  I am learning to not offer any investment advice.

I don't understand this topic, why would anyone leave Bitcoin because of the Foundation? They are a just a small club, bunch of geeks playing in their sandbox, who think they can govern BTC. Most of the Bitcoin community doesn't give a shit about those self proclaimed elitists.

The poll and the thread title don't really match up.  Leaving Bitcoin and leaving the foundation are entirely 2 different things.

Bitcoin is bigger than the foundation and I'm not "leaving" bitcoin for anything.

There 'used' to be more truth in forums than anywhere else.  Twitter:  @cryptobitchicks  Spock: "I am expressing multiple attitudes simultaneously. To which are you referring?"  INTJ-A

Last month I went on a first date with a woman. I brought up bitcoin and tried to explain it to her. Her response was: "Why would I use that? I'd rather just use paypal." So I explained that with bitcoin you don't have to trust third parties like paypal. She looked confused and repeated: "I'd rather just use paypal." After that I said, "Well, just use paypal then." I don't know what she said the rest of the date because, hey, why listen to someone who isn't listening to me?

Needless to say, that first date is also the last date.

Just a little story from the front lines. I have no idea how representative she is.

She didn't mention the Bitcoin Foundation.

No, because there were very few women involved in Bitcoin to begin with.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

I think a lot of people are deterred because of the foundation but lots of people will still use bitcoin because ultimately the foundation doesn't have that much power.

I am a male. Every psychological test I have done has identified my mind as female. Using this unique perspective I will say that the foundation was never a turn on in the first place and the current state of affairs is just as odious as before.

This makes the assumption that women were ever into Bitcoin in the first place.
