There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Does the R-Box do Scrypt mining, both, or is it strictly SHA-256?
Just trying to see what the advantage of this is besides the SHA-256 GH/s over the Gridseed.

Yes, I'd grab a few just for the hell of it if it was near it's true value($30-$40 range).

Yes, I'd grab a few just for the hell of it if it was near it's true value($30-$40 range). This is very tempting (low power draw), but I agree the price is a little high. I'll wait it out for now. I would probably go for two of them if it was $15 cheaper.

After completely striking out with the windows instructions I was able to compile a working binary for raspberry pi despite having no idea what I'm doing. Google is fantastic sometimes. Here's the link. It's working, hashing, showing up on the pool, and great for me but for obvious reasons use at your own risk and in no way mine. https://mega.co.nz/#!aN4RhYYZ!duR0CSLpgy3jNGqjrN1sW4e0Xp-vgJVMNOt_-R3Nlvw

Mine arrived today as well. My first impression is that it's quite well done. While it may well be overpriced, and under-powered, it feels very solid and well built. I don't think folks should compare this to the "last dying gasp" of the Erupter Cube. This is way better done from what I can tell. Time to get busy with software and the 12V power supply.

While I had to re-learn some Linux, as well as some "git" stuff, I was able to use the 4.3.3 cgminer in conjunction with the 3 changed files provided by the Rockminer folks. I had a couple of false starts, but once I got into buiding cgminer correctly, it was smooth sailing. I am now adding my miniscule 32GH/s to the Bitcoin universe. All in all, a very satisfying outcome. While my speed is not much, it's way better than having paid for a BFL Monarch. My tiny rig is infinitely faster, at least for a while.

A brief update. I have measured the power draw on this at the stock 270M speed (i.e. about 32GH/s). Uisng a handy 12V power brick it's reading 39 watts "at the wall", so the actual usage of the device is well under that. It seems to be ticking along nicely at the stock speed and not a huge power draw. I am using Raspberry Pi and cgminer for the support.

I think we have 20 or so U2 left, and the R-boxes are new shrink wrapped from Rockminer direct. We can open the units to test at reqest, but otherwise come factory sealed.

Have the PSUs already. There is no option for just the RK-Box and the Pi ? Will this one work? http://minersource.net/collections/frontpage/products/rpiCan I just add that to the shopping card with the RK-Box? Also, if I buy colocation for 3 months when will it start hashing? From looking at the price, is the hosting $100/mo per RK-Box? If that's the case, if I want to renew the hosting for 3 more months, it'll be $300? Thanks,

Thomas, I noticed this added to the rockminer site for the RK-Box...does this affect what comes with the miners or should we still expect only an SD card and (hopefully) USB cables?
From rockminer.com: RK-BOX,450GH/S HashRate: 450GH/S; Power Consumption: 480W; Cooling: Air cooling system; General Size: 210*230*230mm Blade: 160mm*170mm Weight: 7KG PSU: 4*6PIN PCI-E Controller: Raspberry Pi Noise: 65DB Others: USB lines, SD card for every two units Raspberry Pi and it's power supply for every 2 units

Collocation begins the same time your order would normally ship, just instead of being shipped to you it would be set up for you. This depends on your paid date and where you would fall in the shipping queue.

They were delayed being shipped from RockMiner till this past Friday, they are out for Delivery today and we will be re-shipping. If your order does not ship today, a refund will not be a problem. Support tickets are replied to during normal business hours by the support department and can have up to a 48 hr turn around depending on the number of tickets, the average is same business day.

Alright, well, I haven't received tracking numbers for my RK-Boxes and I want credit or a refund rather than you shipping them out today. If it ships today after you indicated you would provide refunds if they weren't shipped 7/1 I will not be happy.

Well, it seems you really pulled one over and decided to at least print the shipping label TODAY (7/2) rather than read your support emails and provide a refund as requested. We'll see if they actually go out today... You acknowledged above you would provide refunds for those not shipped on 7/1 above to lajz99, however, you did not do so when I requested via email to your support address. Please explain yourself. This is NOT what you said would happen and NOT the terms under which I purchased from you. (And yes, during a holiday week a 1 day delay really means 2 days and we all know every day makes a difference at this point)

Were any Rasp Pi's included with the RK-boxes that were shipped out as indicated on the site?
I know Rocketbox didn't include them but I'm going to assume you did since that's what was advertised on your site
P.S. - This is what my delivery email says "2x Rockminer RK-Box 460gh Bitcoin Miner - RK-Box 440gh; No Pi or PSU / 440GH/Sec", however, the site absolutely DID indicate a Pi was included with every 2 units when I purchased.

Rockminer changed the product before shipping and did not include rPi's our listings are fully based off of the manufacturers descriptions / advertisements and can change based on what the manufacturer provides. This is for all Rockminer customers. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=632947.msg7661657#msg7661657

I would like to see where this information is indicated on your website or anywhere during the purchase process as I do not see this indicated anywhere. When I purchased the product from your site it said a Rasp Pi was to be included, so, you owe anyone who purchased a Rasp Pi. Your site did NOT say "you get what Rockminer sends us"....there was a detailed list, provided by your company (it's your site, right?) advertising what the purchase included. I'm sure in the US you're bound to that. Please let me know what needs to be done to resolve this.

I will make sure everyone is aware of your "policies". This is pretty standard to cover regular typos, as you can see that is was by the fact that the title of the item was correct. We were also originally told by RockMiner that our order was to include Pis and Sd cards, only to find only after receiving the shipment (6 days late) that neither was included. We made a best effort in order to get all the units out as soon as possible considering the circumstances allready. The lack of Pis did not effect just us, but several other orders as documented on the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=632947.msg7661657#msg7661657

From what I recall...adding an R-Pi controller was an OPTION, as was adding a PSU. I personally paid for the R-Pi add-on option to ensure I had everything needed when my miner arrives. Although it is said the RK-Box can be run in Windows so even better imo though I could be mistaken as to which miner I am referencing

Why is it $60 to ship to Australia seems a bit excessive. Any chance of that being reduced?
