How stupid do they think we are!

Truecrypt all the sudden is not secure because Microsoft stopped supporting XP?

Then encouraging everyone to port their Truecrypt encrypted data over to CLOSED SOURCE Microsoft Software & CLOSED SOURCE Mac encryption.

How $$%& stupid do they think we are!

This is all a con game folks.

Somewhere, somehow 3 letter agencies got thru to the people behind Truecrypt.  And must be using hella strong leverage to get compliance from them in this con game.

Don't fall for this shit!  Get the word out to everyone.  This is all a con game.

Keep your Truecrypt software.  Boot to a Linux drive if you need to use Truecrypt.  But never, ever, ever trust closed source encryption!

As fefe posted on his blog [1] this might be a warrant canary [2].

WARNING: Using TrueCrypt is not secure as it may contain unfixed security issues

The way I understand it, if they ride in you cant just go and tell the public about it. Some shops use pictures like this:

This might just be the digital equivalent.

A fork based in Switzerland:

https://truecrypt.ch/

So funny that they think they can shut down open source encryption and/or the encryption community would fall for this shit.
