yes, R9-290 and R9-290X are more difficult to be set.
I am testing with --thread-concurrency 8192 and --gpu-memclock 1250 directly inside sgminer.conf and it seems more stable then before...  more tests will come out in the following hours...
I'll keep you informed

thread-concurrency doesn't affect much NIST5-performance (check the source code) I would not touch it. Play with thread-concurrency only bring you 1% more in my experience.
Important is delete all the *.bin file in sgminer-nist5 and set proper clock, intensity.

anyway, now I am running fine sph-sgminer_nist5 on my windows machines with R9-290 and R9-290X at double hashrate...

the secret is to set --thread-concurrency 8192 and gpu memclock at lowest possible value (--gpu-memclock 1250 or --gpu-memclock 1300)

on some R9-290 lowest gpu-memclock is 1250 and on other R9-290X it is 1300

I'm running memclock at 650 on all rigs, no difference in speed and saves a little power...
At 650 your gpu run at the stock clock ! You can check it on Sgminer console !

none of my R9-290 goes under 1300 Mhz as memclock. I can set 1300 as minimum. A couple of them can be set at 1250

there is some sort of a bug with msi afterburner /amd drivers
(kill msi) then restart it should give the possibility to change the clock (or you have to restart the computer)

Mate, great work with the miner, appreciate it a lot.

On the 270's, I got Memclock 750, Engine 1271, Intensity 21 and each card is giving me 8.69 Mh/s
On the 280's, I got Memclock 775, Engine 1120, Intensity 20 and each card is giving me 12.2 Mh/s
On the 290's, I got Memclock 675, Engine 1075, Intensity 19 and each card is giving me 14.8 Mh/s

Farm is sitting on just under 1.5 Gh/s...

I'll send you a reward for your efforts in the morning... Not gonna goto the warehouse tonight, Germany/Portugal is about to start  Grin

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

Can someone check if this one compiles on linux (it is a direct fork of sph-sgminer where I have uploaded my changes)
https://github.com/djm34/sph-sgminer_x11mod

OK, compiled successfully on ubuntu 12.04  64 bit.

and working fine with HD7970 at doubled hashrate with old drivers Wink

git clone https://github.com/djm34/sph-sgminer_x11mod
cd sph-sgminer_x11mod
autoreconf -i
CFLAGS="-O2 -Wall -march=native" ./configure
make

Am i missing a step? I tried to set this up on debian but it seems like im missing files.. like the kernels/sgminer... do i need to import from other files?

Ok it looks like i might've fat fingered something but i got it installed with 14.6beta drivers.

However, this compiled version is giving me less hashrate than the original one.. i get about 5mhs on 290x's while the older version i get about 7-8mhs...
hmm

Hello EverySingleOneOfYous,
I just setup my 6x290 rig mining talkcoin
I took that chance to upgrade AMD Catalyst to 14.6, and ADL SDK to v7

I'm using djm34 sph_sgminer, OS is a Xubuntu 14.4, system has 4GB of DDR3

First tries didn't get me over 25MH, but tweaking it a bit and BooOOom! >75MH !
Here are the interesting settings I'm using to achieve this hashrate :
Code:
"intensity" : "17",
"worksize" : "64",
"kernel" : "nist5",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"shaders" : "2560,2560,2560,2560,2560,2816",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"gpu-threads" : "4",
"gpu-engine" : "1000-1039,1000-1039,945-1039,945-1039,945-1039,938-1039",
"gpu-fan" : "30-60,30-60,35-65,35-65,35-65,40-70",
"gpu-memclock" : "1300,1300,1250,1250,1250,1250",
GPU 0/1: Sapphire TriX 290
GPU 2/3/4: Asus 290 (AMD case)
GPU 5: Asus 290X (AMD case)

tweaking Intensity was the key Wink

Hehe, 1.59 Gh/s, I will send 750 TAC for block explorer and 1250 TAC for new miner to djm34, how's that?

Rich list will be important as investors like to track top 10 wallets.

Thank you for the block explorer, I will cancel my work request with the DRK dev community...
