I will use only official wallets from  http://talkcoin.org
If Talkcoin V2 is official update then it must be on official site.

It's not official, its a hostile takeover attempt. They are spamming this forum to try to cover it up.

Their aim is to convince people that they MUST switch to their dodgy wallet.

Talkcoin is only at

http://talkcoin.org

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

The official dev is called "Talkcoin".
He's not just the first dev, he's the only dev the coin has had. He did everything.
He is only quiet on this forum right now because these thugs keep spamming him with shit when he shows up, to intimidate him. He is still around and active.

I will follow this
Quote
Once we stop this hardfork (community agreeing of course!), the dev has agreed to continue development as usual. (this is “Talkcoin” rather than “TalkTeam”)
If you guys agree with not letting these guys take our coin, I would like you to say so. We will then contact the exchanges and pools to make sure they're using the official code and this crap should all be over.

contact the exchanges and pools asap

I am the only Australian on the team so I often feel like I'm covering "The Night Shift"  Wink

The rest of the team are in England, France and The Netherlands.

Andy, TalkTeam, has already spoken to the pools and exchanges, everything is lined up ready to go.  The pools and exchanges are with Talkcoin V2.0.

The new website is: http://www.talkcoin.info/ and is being finished off by our web developer Crz, who is also doing design work for other well known coins.

I think that should cover it for now.

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

They moved the launch date from 25th sept to 2 weeks earlier after I made the large post above detailing the scam. They're trying to force it through ASAP b4 anyone stops it.
They drown out the forum with spam to hide the dissenting views and hide posts which say it's not an official or mandatory release. When the others in the "team" wake up, they will be filling the forum with their shit. If they were awake now, we wouldn't have much of a chance for meaningful conversation right now.

You need to stop making out that we are a sinister bunch of people.

The original dev had already said to Andy "All features complete, no more development", Andy (Talkteam) didn't hear from the dev for about a month after that.

I also had a few interesting conversations with the original dev, which left me with an uneasy feeling.

An independent code review was done and well, you know the rest.

We discussed long and hard about reducing the block reward, however we have already tried this in the past and miners left us in large quantities, it's not in the best interests of the coin long term.  This has been proven.

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

The new official site is under construction by crz http://www.talkcoin.info/
The new windows wallet V2 will be available today.

TALKCOIN V2 MANDATORY UPDATE

Please ensure sure you update to the V2.0 wallet before block #465,100 / Monday 8th September

Talkcoin v2.0 Windows: (later today)

Talkcoin v2.0 Mac: link

Source: https://github.com/Talkcoin-Team/talkcoin

Please note:

This is the official thread and only the wallets released here are considered official by the Talkcoin community, pools and exchanges.  Severals threads have popped up trying to get users to install different wallets - using any wallets from unofficial source means you will be on the wrong fork and won't be able to mine on the Talkcoin pools or trade TAC on Bittrex or Poloniex so please be careful and only accept wallets from the official thread here.

First NIST5, First Anonymous Chat

Launched 4th May 2014 / No Premine / No IPO / No Instamine

Talkcoin (TAC) is a new digital currency that lets users chat in decentralized public / private chat rooms securely and anonymously.

Talkcoin delivers next-gen privacy, security and anonymity, built on Bitcoin's decentralized blockchain and encryption technology to make sure no one can spoof, block, delete, modify or snoop on your private communications and so you can access them any time from anywhere.

Other chat systems require servers or a direct connection to the users you want to chat with, Talkcoin is the first totally decentralized communication system.

For more background information on Talkcoin, visit the original Dev's thread.

Currency Information

Talkcoin is a currency for storing value, exchange and secure communications.

Each chat message has a small TAC fee, all fees are paid back into the TAC economy by being destroyed in the genesis block.

This reduces TAC supply and increases velocity, which creates demand and delivers value to investors.

To avoid problems from block halving making mining unprofitable and ensure enough TAC are available for messaging, Talkcoin has a decentralized vote feature so twice per week users can vote to adjust block reward up or down by 10%.

Talkcoin was released on 4th May 2014 and (as of 4th August) total supply is ~7 million TAC, and block reward has been reduced from 25 TAC per block to ~15 TAC.

NIST5

Talkcoin designed the NIST5 hashing algorithm to provide a better combination of power efficiency and security than existing algorithms.  NIST5 chains the 5 final round candidates for the National Institute of Science and Technology's  SHA-3 hash competition, which were all selected for their performance & security (BLAKE - Grøstl - JH - Keccak - Skein).  NIST5 excludes algorithms eliminated from the final round for security and performance concerns such as CubeHash, Luffa, simd, Shavite-3, ECHO as found in X11 and Hamsi and Fugue added in X13.  For more information on the NIST competition see here: http://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/ir/2012/NIST.IR.7896.pdf

Mining Guide

(for beginners, see: https://www.facebook.com/talkcoin/posts/716997875027964)

Talkcoin uses NIST5 so miners need:

  • Talkcoin's NIST5 port of SGMiner: http://talkcoin.org/talkcoin-miner.zip
  • Set your kernel -k to 'talkcoin'
  • Intensity can be set higher than other algorithms
  • Thread concurrency, shaders, gpu threads should be set as normal

Example Config
Talkcoin SGMiner command line example:

Code:
sgminer.exe -k talkcoin -o http://127.0.0.1:8000 -u user -p x

Ignore that guy at best, Chris. He showed his support towards the team with the new update
Thanks for the update, its great to see the coin being taken over and looked after and I’m sure everyone appreciates your effort.

Then he pissed off because the block reward doesn't work the way he wants to, so he posts a lot of shits.
k-meister if you take so much time to research about Talkcoin, why don't you pay attention to this:

- votedev could vote to 100% from the start
https://github.com/talkcoin/talkcoin-wallet/blob/8c71e9971a6ca478f2cf8f97e95d08cf47183b76/src/rpcwallet.cpp
Code:
    if (fHelp || params.size() != 1)
        throw runtime_error(
            "votedev <amount per cent>\n"
            "Percentage to be given to developers 0-100");

    if (nSubsidy <= 0)
        throw JSONRPCError(RPC_CLIENT_NOT_CONNECTED, "Invalid Subsidy");

    if (!(params[0].get_real() >= 0 && params[0].get_real() <=100))
        throw JSONRPCError(RPC_INVALID_PARAMETER, "Invalid Percentage");

    int64 nVote2 = nSubsidy * params[0].get_real() / 100;
- after secretly acquiring a lot of TAC without saying anyone (up to more than 30% in one voting period) and being scared of found out due to the block explorer available, he changed to 10% with version 1.1
https://github.com/talkcoin/talkcoin-wallet/blob/2dd6630c5bbda9d1c6559e8f8b696230961a8ae0/src/rpcwallet.cpp

- he changed again to 5% with version 1.3
https://github.com/talkcoin/talkcoin-wallet/blob/3eea265abdc6f7374ce198a258e72c3172e8fbe1/src/rpcwallet.cpp

Actually the fee stays at 3.9% for the whole time after we paid attention to this matter, it's never 3%.

Do you think the new team still willing to work with a person like that ? I doubt.

The takeover group have woken up and its spam time again. Sad

We will be spammed out of existence by the "team"'s posts and reams of  fake official announcements.

We need a moderated forum.

This "v2" is not talkcoin but a hostile takeover attempt.

Do not switch to this wallet.

The only official talkcoin wallet is at http://talkcoin.org

Let the new team theirselves  play this game.
We community refuse to use the scam v2 wallet
New team is much more shameless .

If you concern about the 3% of new team, read this.
The dev fee is since new voting period (last week) 0.82/16.90 = 4.85%.
You cry about 3% paid for the whole team while ignoring about almost 5% for one person. It's hilarious.
