I'm most interested in: "The New York Coin Foundation today announced plans to launch a SUMMER IN NEW YORK event which will be centered around a “boots on the ground” guerilla marketing blitz in New York City to target wide-spread merchant acceptance of New York Coin (NYC)."

I don't see the cap as much of a problem compared to getting the coin out there. Getting in front of the local market and gaining merchant acceptance is what will help this coin grow and succeed, and if/since the foundation is making strides towards this, I say we are on the right track.

If more everyday people get into the coin, then we will see an increase in value. As it stands now, in my opinion, I think this coin is a primary candidate for mass adoption, at least as far as New York is concerned. An algo change might be good for the crypto community's desire for features and abilities for a coin, but I don't think this matters to the average person. I think the high cap allows more people to get their hands on coins, thereby increasing desire to trade rather than encourage hoarding and simply encouraging use of a crypto as a store of value. In this sense, the high cap allows the coin to be used as more of an intended form of payment for goods and services.

Take doge as an example. It has achieved 6th place on coinmarketcap, not for being innovative, but simply for being fun and easy for newcomers to get into. At this point a user friendly coin that is able to break through the local market and gain merchant acceptance (giving it real world use and application), will climb in value, over technical innovation that every other coin has, or every other coin can add at any given time.

At my request the official pool operator has added PLEASE VOTE! requests to EVERY page of the NYC pool. I don't understand how there could be 100 NYC miners and 12 votes. They are either extremely cheap and lazy and expect The Foundation to do all their work to increase value OR they are non-English speaking and don't understand the request to VOTE. It's EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.

I mentioned it to the qq group once before. Maybe I'll go back on it tonight and try and ask again. It's completely unreasonable and illogical. You are wasting electricity mining a coin that most complain can't be sold off right away and instead of attempting to help increase its value through a simple vote that cost 0.001 btc, you continue to mine without any plan or form of action that will allow you to make up for the money spent mining. I guess the only incentive would be a payment/giveaway in which they profit in order for them to spend the time to vote.
