Yes, sounds like a great idea.  However, the destination should be chosen by the winner since some countries have strict visa requirements. 

i like the idea but it would be a shame if a non deserving person won so how can we make it fair?

I kind of liked doing something that would have had an impact and involved a niche community.  The niche community is important because they can spread information amongst themselves and are more likely to take it seriously/act upon it as opposed to not.

Dream vacations are done by so many different companies and we never hear about the winners.  Nor is there necessarily any interaction amongst raffle ticket holders.  It's just a random assortment of people who get drawn into a frenzy and then dissipate when they didn't win...

There is a difference regarding how people continue to interact with DRM in both scenarios and in my opinion the former had much more long term promise.  The article I referenced also shows a real appreciation for the strategy of networking and marketing to new people.

It was not my goal to exclude anybody. However it is not my dream or ambition to run lawn and garden coin. The Dream vacation is just a promotion not a focal point.
I had absolutely no problem with the community working towards Myfarms project as one of the causes. He wanted it to be the focus. I do not believe that to be everybody's dream. I wouldn't have felt comfortable leading that mission so i offered him to lead that mission with community consent. I grew up in Arizona where zeroscape is king. I have little personal interest in gardening. I have little in that field to bring to the table and no desire to make that a large priority in my life.
I hope this is understandable.

I hear ya, and I support you.  I do like MyFarm's idea as a charitable branch for the coin, but I agree to move forward with what you have been doing and your goals.  If MyFarm wants to be part of a DRM charity board to run something like that, it could work.  But it sounds like he wants to move forward with his own coin with that being the purpose of the coin.  And it also sounds like he still wants to be part of the Dream Team.

Dreamers. I have to agree with Johnny, our Dev.  MyFarm's project is a great idea and he has good intentions. However, to solely base DRM as a farm and garden coin would eventually kill it.  Everyone has different dreams but all dreams require money to fulfill.  Dreamcoin should be a coin that can help anyone accomplish their dreams regardless of what it is.

I think the Dev's idea of a Dream Vacation is a great promo and would attract many new Dreamers.  Maybe instead of setting a destination.  The winner could receive a gift certificate through expedia.com or orbitz.com  I am pretty sure those websites are accessible worldwide and have all major international airlines.  

Acebenson mention his concern of the raffle could be fixed.  My suggestion to this is to only allow 500 or less tickets to be sold.  Raffle does not happen until all tickets are sold.  Give it like a 90 day expiration and if all tickets are not sold by then. Refunds will be issued.  Then for the actual raffle.  The drawing will be live via youtube live streaming and each of the 500 tickets will be shown on camera and put in a basket or whatever.  Then a winner will be drawn live on youtube.  How does that sound dev and dreamers?

I was having a similar idea we do a community fundraiser put the funds in a transparent account. all donors submit transaction details and their address with amount
we keep a record of what was donated by what address until the trip voucher is funded / expedia orbits gift. I say we set a goal of somewhere in the territory of $2000 USD
If the goal isn't met for fundraising we refund all donors. After funds have been raised we sell raffle tickets until community funds are recovered to be applied to the next promotion...
this is a rough outline of the idea

EDIT: We also treat raffle funds in the same way as the other community funds if goal isn't met refunds are distributed so respectively there would be $4000 USD in holding until raffle has been won...

You have some wonderful ideas but the problem is that your community is the size of 10 (or so). Most miners abandoned DRM.
Im just facing the facts here. I do feel bad for those who got screwed over by original dev and lost some money and time. Hopefully they learned a lesson.
Theres not much you can do. If you have some good coding skills and new ideas, then perhaps you could lure some new people in to DRM, but pretty story and pictures dont really cut it anymore.
There are simply too many coins out there. Soon every bct member has its own coin, lol.

Fortunately we're Proof of Stake so miners aren't as important. Community is the key here. I think your attitude sells a coin short. Don't get me wrong There are a lot of fail coins out there and a lot of false promises. I will not make false promises or scam anybody. I didn't want control of Dreamcoin this was not a take over on my behalf.
This was a matter of picking up after the original dev threw a tantrum and stormed off virtually locking out and abandoning the community on what could have been a sinking ship. I understand your skepticism, but i feel you sell crypto short and cannot see beyond the exchanges and closed world view. We are a new industry with room to grow.
Dream is friendly and approachable with much promise for greater acceptance in a broader market than most. I have plans and future goals some of which will take time. The biggest hurdle in my eyes is a Proof of Stake coin android wallet after such is developed (I know others are working on this) I have a large variety of marketing strategies.
Yes we're not the flavor of the week and there are several obstacles to navigate. However with your attitude of pump to dump on to the next coin the eco system will not improve.
It probably would have been easier to start my own coin without any of the stigmas attached but that as well does not help anyone.
I have my own personal reasons for being in crypto and the top of which is not monetary but revolutionary
To make change to bring about a different means to decentralize and add a true democratic spectrum to exchange
To take some of the power back from the hands of tyrants

I do not wish to battle for control of the future of the coin. I feel some of this puts undue pressure on me. Unless the community want Myfarm to take the lead seat and he is willing to invest the time necessary to align the coin strictly to this purpose.
otherwise i feel it is too specific to encompass all the dreamers dreams
outlining the dev structure and timeline also insinuates the statement above
I have no issue making this a supported cause but not the foundational principal. I do not feel comfortable taking on these responsibilities
of an ongoing charity for said purpose.

DRM may have a future, yet it depends on the ongoing development.
You try to takeover DRM, do you have a specific plan over it? If so, can you share it to the community?
As you mentioned earlier, anon is not a priority, then what to work on first?
Myfarm is trying to help DRM out, and help the community out. If you don't have a clear plan, you may follow his idea.
however, i think you are too sensitive about who is the leader, you are not a teamworker.
