Sometimes you have neighborhoods that do unwanted noises. Could be musical instrument they are trying to learn, DIY constructions or pure noise. Maybe they could have address for tips for less noise.
How does it sound? Similar ideas?
How would that work please be quiet I'll tip you 5 dollars Then the next day they will do it again to earn 5 bucks Seems to be a bit off for me, might want to try installing sound proof buffers in your house or a quiet room Anyways its summer its noisy since there is only 3 to 4 months before cooping up in the house again for Winter lol. That said I like Franky's noise premium fee, but it should be refundable every month if no issues arise.

I have lived in a duplex, but have been fortunate to never live in a large apartment building. Sending coins for neighborhoods to be more silent? At first they might feel threatened by the idea, depending on which media stories they have seen/heard about Bitcoin. Certainly, they will get the message that their noise is too loud.

Paedon me, but just what is sending BTC and to whom going to do to help silence neighbourhoods?
Jesus.

Maybe use the BTC to grease the palm of the cops to hang around the neighborhood at times when those people who drive around with their stereos blasting are at their worst? And then those of us who know to follow noise ordinance codes can get a percentage of fines collected.

So, you are suggesting the Bitcoin be used for illegal activity? Jesus. How about you buy a pair of earplugs?

I was being facetious, but I can tell you from experience that earplugs don't always help and are annoying. Sometimes slapping people with fines for breaking noise codes is the only way to get them to notice.

It sounds like you are essentially paying them to not exercise their right to free speech. If people are making a lot of noise at late hours of the night you should simply ask them to quiet down and they most likely will make less noise. I do like the idea of giving people an incentive to meet certain standards via bitcoin, just not when "speech" is involved. People seem to get confused when it comes to 'the right to free speech.' That right is the right not to have the government makes laws restricting your speech. As a private citizen I can try to stifle your speech all I want. Not that I endorse the OPs very abusable idea.

But I like to put this in slightly different terms. The right to free speech doesn't give you the right to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater unless there really is a fire. It also doesn't give you the right to go out of your way to be offensive. Stick a rubber penis on your forehead and call it art if you want, but that doesn't mean you won't be arrested for public indecency. And then there's the whole Westboro Baptist Church thing. These guys don't even seem to realize that somebody's going to start a brawl with them eventually.

Calling the cops can be very dangerous these days, since too often they show up ready to (literally) shoot just about anyone. "May you live in a town with nice police" ...

The OP was trying to show a use of micropayments being given to neighbors via bitcoin in exchange for being quiet
