There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Clams came out in the midst of a large number of coins. It may have been one of the busiest times ever for new coin releases. In the midst of that, the coin made a near instant mark and the team quickly did what was needed to make the coin both unique and a needed resource. It is that kind of back up work after the launch and before that makes or breaks a coin and it has made a long time power coin in clams. They insured that there was a need to have the coin ans a specific business model that came after the coin upon release.

This look like a promising coin and i am looking forward to it a good future.

I forget how "crowded" 2014/15 was with coin releases. Was looking at the number of new coin announcements recently and I was like - WHOA!! SO many, but then it was always almost like that.

Clam should climb.. this has seen the ride.. I believe probably after the next release. But can defo do with some revival from a marketing perspective and a business plan.

I'm venting because I bought this dead scam coin that has been abandoned by the official developers and is now being run by Some random guy named "Douglas". What a joke.

It's becoming clearer and clearer to me that MY MONEY IS GONE FOREVER, IT ISN'T COMING BACK!

Can someone help me out with some information i'm trying to gather?

What was the Bitcoin block height that CLAM forked from back on May 12 2014? I can't find it anywhere. My best guess is that it was around block 300,380.

Does anybody know the block CLAM originally forked from?

From the FAQ tab on just-dice.com:

Quote
The specific blocks at which the snapshots were taken:

   BTC block 300377 (2014-05-12 12:48:17)
   LTC block 565693 (2014-05-12 13:06:31)
  DOGE block 218556 (2014-05-12 13:09:17)

I think that Dooglus is dumping Clams before the new release v2.0.0 Smiley

How would that make any sense? Wouldn't I expect a new release to increase the price if anything? Also I'm nowhere near the biggest CLAM holder, even if we only take Just-Dice accounts into account. There are likely bigger holders on the exchanges too.

I'm venting because I bought this dead scam coin that has been abandoned by the official developers and is now being run by Some random guy named "Douglas". What a joke.

It's becoming clearer and clearer to me that MY MONEY IS GONE FOREVER, IT ISN'T COMING BACK!

I don't "run" the coin. I did a bunch of development on it prior to relaunching Just-Dice to use it, because it was lacking features that I needed to be able to track and distribute stakes among other things. Everyone is free to do the same I did. The development is done out in the open on github. So rather than complaining that it's a "scamcoin" (why do you think that?) or that it has been "abandoned", why don't you pitch it and help with its development? It's pretty clear to me that many people have difficulty syncing the blockchain from the p2p network, so there's a job you could immediately get to work on. It's a little beyond my abilities to fix it, but you are more than welcome to contribute.

tl;dr: it's a community project. Don't moan and bitch, get involved.

There is ZERO reason t believe the price will recover. It went from 235 down to 50 on Polo, and now it struggles to maintain a price above the 60's. That is TERRIBLE. It's been days with no end in sight. This pos TRASH coin is going to bounce around 50-70 for weeks, maybe even forever. It looks totally abandoned, where is all the new money supposed t come from to raise the price??? IT WON'T HAPPEN! I'm ruined!!!!!!!!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Please STFU with your hysteria. No one forced you to buy this coin or any other coin with your pocket money. If you cant stand the heat of the cryptoworld, fuck off and play games in your room or something.

It appears as though both block explorers are offline. Both http://clamsight.com/ and http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/CLAM/ are offline right now 9:06 PM UTC Wednesday, October 25, 2017. If CLAM ever want's to be a successful project with more mainstream adoption, I suggest that there be a working block explorer that is running 24/7. Maybe something like https://github.com/iquidus/explorer or https://github.com/bitpay/insight running on AWS? Maybe using advertising to offset hosting costs?

EDIT: I just read the post above mine, please update the main post to include http://khashier.com/
