Where can I find CLAMs roadmap, information about development plans or whitepaper? I couldn't find it on website.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Devs, will you further distribute free CLAM for BTC holders? I have another block, that was a matter for initial distribution, but may be it will be another new stakes?

Clam could go a long way more (like LTC), but I think more distribution and spreading Clams could be needed.

As investor in $$$ I don't find it very good, free clams idea.

Absolutely fine.

Above average in fact.

Thanks everyone for all the advise!

Done the exchange via Shapeshift. I can say it was a breeze!

I also checked BleuTrade, I really liked the interface.  But the response time was a bit slow from my location; perhaps I'm far away from their servers.

All the best to CLAMS!

You give someone a crumb and they want the whole cookie (and buy it).  Raises awareness.  There are some sitting on an extraordinary amount of clam.  Makes distribution/decentralization poor.

One more question, unlocking for staking is valid for some time or until wallet is closed?

I am considering to put 5 btc on staking (in Clam of course) for long time.
Safety is very important for me.

Am I safe if wallet.dat is stolen and encrypted (but unlocked for staking only).

If you use the RPC call to unlock it, you have to specify a number of seconds to leave it unlocked for.

I'm not familiar with how the GUI works. I never use it.

The wallet.dat file itself doesn't change when it is unlocked. The password is in RAM only. So if someone steals the file all they get is the encrypted version. But if they're smart they'll look in RAM and grab the password from there. "unlock for staking" still requires your private keys to be accessible to the client, and so they're also theoretically available to anyone with access to your system.

I made as you describe but when I insert in the console my BTC address private key it says that it's not a valid private key (error -5).
I write importprivkey <privatekey>

You know not to type the < and > characters, right?

I just tried generating a couple of BTC addresses and private keys using bitaddress.org and was able to import them using the 'importprivkey' RPC:

Quote
$ clamd importprivkey Kzf95MZgZ2ZGU4FWni6BmUpAaicu1oJSqpedeyqG4FBSdVNYfCPw '' false
$ clamd importprivkey L5YCDqiPNvvmTxPvnr9jPcNXubLCSTuSdviXeyJiAM22L72xBFs1
$

The first one is quick since the 'false' means not to rescan the chain to find any transactions involving that key. The second one is slow, but is what you'll need to do to claim your CLAMs.

It seems to be a standard text message that they put up for any coin they're having trouble with.

They don't reply to developer attempts to help them so I don't know what's wrong.

Maybe it is something political? There is no problem on Bittrex with CLAMS, so the network has no problem. Anyone who is on the secret crypto exchanges chat and who knows more?

Folks, not being a developer, what are the small part people like me can play to help boost the awareness of clam coins to the public? I think this is needed to help push up the clamcoin market capitalization.

I've just recently claimed my coins and I'm keeping them, as I like the idea of earning more coins and staking seems to be a simple avenue to do this (used to do mining but the expenses were unjustifiable at that time, and I don't have the proper conditions to do it now).  However, I think the clam community is much smaller (and quiet) than some of the more prominent coins out there. So am thinking how can each of us active on this thread help to play a part in boosting the popularity of the coin.

Sorry if it seems longwinded. Just wanted to share what my thoughts are. Cheers all!

Getting a reply from poloniex support can take months. There's probably something simple wrong with their wallet, but they are so overloaded that making a simple fix will take ages. The whole exchange is struggling to cope with the huge volume of transactions from new customers..

I would think coin related issues would be addressed by a different mailbox and not the same support team handling retail questions. Perhaps this has to be done by one of the authoritative figures here.

Does the client overwrite the decrypted keys (a) when the client "locks" after the specified period and (b) before the client exits? If not, the raw keys may remain in memory for longer than expected, especially since the OS may not immediately zero fill released memory.
