You sold everything right?  I sold it all and I'm short in a big way.  Can't wait for the giant long squeeze.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

 Roll Eyes

the market i trade at, is at selling coins at 5.89700CAD..... I'm hoping mtgox will hold 6$ for long enough for the Canadain Virtual Exchange to catch up...

but i dont see a giant long squeeze happening, if i manage to sell at 6$ I'll be buying back at the first sign of trouble.

ya I've been looking into getting setup with a Mtgox account and doing some buying / selling across the two exchanges... sometimes we are 30 cents under or 30 cents over

It's not that great if you factor everything in. Potential profit varies between 1%-2.5%, but usually is about 1.5%. Right now there is arbitrage opportunity and chance to make ~$150 (1.74%), but you would have to sell ~1,440 BTC worth ~$8,600. In the meantime market could move against you, and you'd have no chance of buying back since other exchanges are way smaller than Gox. Fees are too high to transfer fiat.

Could someone elaborate on what a "long squeeze" is?  Is that a long period of decreasing price?  Or is it a quick drop and hover at a low price?

A drop that force-liquidates leveraged longs.

if their is a lot of people on bitcoinia that hold week long positions, and the market drops enough to liquidate a few of them, this causes the market to drop a little more which might be enoght liquidate even more longs, again this makes the market drop, this snowball effect is known as a "long squeeze".

this happened on the 18th last month:

it was a very good day for bitcoin
