Hi all,

Just got scammed on LBC for approx $1000 by user 'DiamondBTCGroup'.

Basically, sent the BTC via Escrow, he got it, did the WU. I verified it was active and ready to be picked up. Release the escrow (dumb, but he had perfect feedback, etc)

Arrived at Stop N Shop to pick it up, clerk informs me 'Another terminal is currently processing this transaction'... Which is strange cause the WU was sent to *me*, my name, my address, so thats pretty much damn impossible. I say OK, wait about 10 min. Ask him to re-run it and at this time the MCTN is no longer valid in my state. Tried to contact user on LBC multiple times, no response.

Stupid of me for trying to diversify my ratings on LBC. I'm sticking to the three people I know/use that are legit.

My LBC Legit list (so far, selling my BTC for their WU/MG)

Sorry for your loss but feedback means nothing. Someone could have a thousand good trades for small amounts, get feedback and then pull off a scam like this. They have nothing to lose. When a individual / company has more to lose the chance of them scamming you is less but doesn't off-set it completely.

Always always always pick up the money first before releasing escrow. It's been proven many times the non-recoverable clause for WU/MG only applies ONCE the money has been picked up. If it hasn't been picked up then it's subject to reversal.

That's horrible, sorry to hear about this  Sad

That is a huge amount of money, why not take the extra 30 minutes and pick it up?

Also I wonder if western union can be held liable for giving it to the wrong person. Might've been simply reversed though.

AFAIK, you can cancel the transaction as long as it hasn't been picked up. Also very easy to get verified on Western Union and then claim your card details were stolen.

Digitally distributed items such as codes or vouchers etc. (basically all forms of instant transfer articles or items) are the most common target for this type of finance securing when there isn't another party involved.

Lol, He asked me to and I wanted to be nice since he was offering an 'OK' rate... it wasn't all that great but it was still OK.. He seemed like he wanted to do more business too.. so i figured sure lets start it off on the right foot.. I only released it like 5 minutes before i got to the place to cash it.
