have they said how many were stolen, saying alot does not help

Ya they said there is about 30% of the supply held now by the hackers. One argument is forking prevents one entity from holding so many but they have no issue with Mintpal being that entity?

I am blown away and lost a lot of faith in some major crypto leaders and voices as a result of this.

Coins are just getting dumped on Cryptsy. Now they are going to lose a lot if they hard fork and reverse all those deposits and cash outs. This shady Altcoin has a lot more damage to cause and one I was never on board with from the start.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

It seems everyday the "big wigs" of the cryptography world keep taking steps backwards just for an immediate gain.

It saddens me that one of the major reasons Bitcoin (or any coin) is not thriving in the physical world is due to security. Pressing "reset" on a currencies history is our only option? /sigh

+1 for government arguments.

Don't misunderstand me, I know cryptography will one day become a replacement for our current currencies, but at this rate, all the greed, "insecure" exchanges, people looking to make a quick profit off of scamcoin after scamcoin, just sets Bitcoin (and all other coins) back to the days where all this didn't even exist.

I just pray that one day, someone, some coin (maybe even Pinkcoin), changes the game and the world for the better of humankind*.

Weird. What are you running? Windows? Also, what's your conf file? And if you back up your wallet and move it, does the problem stop?

Update regarding Texas Hold'em Pink Poker:

Hello everyone, sorry for not being active but have had a lot of work to do.

I have also been working with the animation for the Pink Poker game.. it has been very hard and confusing for me to implement it, but to the end I managed to make it work.. Now I need to do some animation for the chips as well.. but this time it will be easier ( I hope :} ).

So we are not far away from a beta version..

I am still seeking volunteers who would like to test the Pink Poker game before it gets released.
PM me your email adress and I will send an invite for the game as soon as it is ready for beta testing.

In anticipation of the PINK Payment system I went and set up a Gemstone/Jewellery website selling exclusively for pinkcoin.  Its old school email ordering for the time being but hopefully once the pink payment system is set up I will be able to add it!  I have lots more to add but just wanted to get it up first, as a hobby cutter expect to see more Opals making there way onto the page and if you see what online stores sell solid opals and natural untreated stones for I think I am offering pretty fair prices to my fellow Pinkcoiners.  Anyways just thought I would let everybody know and would love to hear any feedback! (I wanted the pinkcoin background for the "about Pinkcoin" page but didn't know where to locate it, if anybody could point me in that direction!)

Well, other two versions, since I made it why not to let you see, the first is just in the colors like the soldiers img, the other didn't turn out very cool, but a little failure for your entertainment..Smiley

The one with the "Puff!" needs to be published and seen by as many eyes as possible.

These are brilliant, I love them. And definitely agree that these pictures should be plastered all over the place. Well done.

ps. Apologies for the silence over the last couple days, take it as a sign that we are deep in the code and developments Wink

Anyone else think now is a great time to get in on PC, or at least stock up more?

Forum has been a little quiet and no news recently. Yet, the poker game will be out soon, The WSOP airing on ESPN soon, a very good price, plus any other new features that will be released in the new future. Oh yeah, and Paypal payments...

My wallet just crapped out today. It has been working fine since I installed it almost two weeks ago. Today I had to do a hard reset and now it says assertion failed and wont start up. Can anyone here help me out?

try going to %appdata%/pinkcoin - make a copy of wallet.dat and put it somewhere safe. Delete everything in that folder except for pinkcoin.conf and wallet.dat (the backup is just for safety. You should always have a backup of it;))

Then try opening Pinkcoin-Qt again and wait for it to resync. Let me know if it doesn't work.
