No this coin will not go PoS since there is a lack of community involvement in the coin its not worth spending the time converting the coin.  I've done what I could to push this coin but the tools and resources never took off.  I have taken some of the original code I was going to roll into Blazecoin and have been working on a new project of a coin-less public ledger system for non-currency related crypto work.  If interest grows again with Blazecoin (people actively getting involved... and I'm not talking about the few of you who have been involved) then maybe I'll come back with a new release.  And no, the blockchain isn't STALLED on Blazecoin, it simply is that no one is mining and the difficulty got jacked because a single entity dumped a large amount of hash for a few blocks (not sure why) and it will start again with the adjusted difficulty on the next block found.  Blazecoin has always had diff retargeting on every block if there are large swings in hashrate.

Update:

Mining Pool -->  Mining Core

This pool won't pay out until you've earned a minimum of 1000BLZ, just for reference.

Bootstrap file -->https://mega.nz/#!HoQjwQZR

The bootstrap file is just under 300MB and will fast forward your wallet to past block 1,090,750. Remember to place the blockchain.dat file in your folder that contains your wallet.dat file and then the first time you start the Blazecoin wallet it WILL take a LONG time to finish reading the bootstrap.dat file. But rest assured, it IS WORKING.

I think you made a very good choice not to convert to 'proof of stake' , I can state 15-20 reasons why I feel this way but will reserve those comments.

Stick with your original plan and have patience since 'real' community involvment vs. most of the 'sock puppetry' seen (more so in the past around here in alt coins but still now with some more 'famous coins') are shams.

I respect that you are continuing to support your project.

One 'possible' idea to consider is to partner with another coin with the same algo and (depending on which is dominant) think about merge mining with them as either the parent or child coin.

Merge mining is the mining of the future. Same hash power running multiple chains.....

Since the necessary code for adding the aux pow for scrypt 1024 is well tested with ltc and doggie coin as is pool software and other things teaming up with another coin dev. team that is legit, honest , and willing to be your partner may make sense ......

Just an idea, I have no suggestions as to who ..... that would be up to you and your team to consider.

Glad to see you still rolling.  Grin

well since cinnamon brought it up ...

aux pow ... good idea ... but maybe best to wait and see what goes down in the POW/scrypt sector

in POW SHA256 it is MM with btc ... you can't partner up ... even if all the alt SHA256 joined into one super pool it still would be in the shadow of a 51% attack.

in POW scrypt forming a grouping might work and could compete against LTC for hash.  but it is obvious that being just a lone POW in scrypt won't draw investors (see the shadow of a 51% attack) ... but can squeak by as some low cap niche coin.

NOTE, CASINO, TIPS, MOON, MEGA would be the leading parent candidates.

But it might be moot since if you do MM it basically means anyone can mine even the LTC/Doge pools.

Merged mining has always been on the plate for future ideas.  But for a while I've viewed auxpow as a last resort. And those that know me understand my aversion to current implementations of Proof-of-Stake.  (oh and if you are wondering why there is a PoS coin in my signature, I was personally asked by a friend to shine some light on their project... I think its good to help out new teams who are trying.)   Now as for growth and movement of Blazecoin, a number of the planned projects are stuck in bureaucratic red tape (partnerships with the IAFC, IAFF, etc) all take a LONG time to move through committees and get approval... but none of those project have been "dropped" they just seem to be on the back burner.  This upcoming week I'm heading to Chicago for another meeting regarding one of these partnerships so I hope to have an update after that.
