I had to come up with this because Skynet from the Terminator television series is said to begin it's attack today  Shocked

Seriously, optimization of massively parallel computation as in the bitcoin network could speed up artificial intelligence development.

What do you say?

I believe BItcoin is an memetic entity that took control of crypto-anarchists and turn them into soldiers for the distribution of its meme.

Dammit, now we're going to have to go back in time and prevent the creation of the terminator films.

Like maybe Satoshi was an alien and we are solving mathematical problems that arise in his design of a spacecraft which will take him back to his place of origin: Krypton.

Or perhaps we are doing the NSA's dirty computational work for them?

The more I think about it, the more creepy it feels. I could not think of a better way than bitcoin to push the development of calculation power: fast integer operations --> money

Maria Shriver recently filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Maria is seeking custody of their two kids, their houses, and the cars.  Arnold simply said, "I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle."

When asked why Arnold Schwarzenegger hadn't upgraded to Windows 7 yet, he replied "I still love Vista, baby."

When AI is finally born, it'll only spend and accept bitcoins.

But on a serious note, the reason computers can never take over the world is because someone can always unplug them. Game over.

#1, when an A.I. super intelligence makes itself known, there will not just be one, but many.
Therefore if we can make sure the strongest one has the "people's" interest at stake we will be okay.

I suggest watching Colossus: the Forbin project.
Much better than Skynet, as Colossus is a philosophy.

hey I just finally figured out the avatar I want to use!

It's one of my favorite films.
