it's now been over 1.5 hour since i delete the files in appdata while keeping the wallet and conf.
still, 0 active connections.

conf has the nodes from op.

It seems that something is blocking your connections
or somehow perhaps your conf is not being read by the wallet.

Could you open up debug.log and see if there is anything
there about the nodes?

When you type getinfo to the console, do you see your own
ip there?

As for the all the coins in stake, that is a separate issue.
You can reserve a part of your balance so that they stay out
of staking.

i should remind of the noobness of mine here before we go much deeper into tech part of the things.

for connection blockage, i am not sure.
all other wallets seem to work just fine.

all i have found, in regards to nodes in debug.log(information>debug file open) is the path to the debug file and db.log
i don't know what else i should be looking for.

getinfo does not show my ip.
hmm? you might be right about the connection(s).

Coins use different ports to connect to peers,
so maybe Dreamcoin port is in use already or blocked
by firewall?

Your debug log isn't showing up when you push
the Open button in information panel?

I had the same 0 connection problem on 4 different PC's...here's what worked for me:

Edit your Dreamcoin.conf and REMOVE ALL of the OP's addnode entries EXCEPT addnode=107.170.234.82

Save your Dreamcoin.conf to the same folder that your dreamcoin-qt.exe is in...

Delete everything EXCEPT your wallet from your AppData\Roaming\Dreamcoin folder...

Now start your dreamcoin-qt.exe and you should have connections...

Good luck.

I just installed a wallet on a machine that's never had one. I have 17 connections and it is syncing fine.
I used the conf file that comes with the download.  Placed it in the appdata /roaming/dreamcoin folder.
I think your firewall maybe blocking you from network access...

i am guessing problem has to do with port and that is beyond my capabilities. unless i am guided, of course.

in the early age of dreamcoin, i had wallet working fine at work(xp) and at home(vista).
then came a time when for some reason wallet just wouldn't start up at home(vista) but worked fine at work(xp).
last week, wallet would start up at work but stay out of sync and at home same problem as before(not starting up.)

this week, i deleted all files in appdata, except for conf and wallet, at work and started up the wallet.
as of today, still not syncing.

but, at home, i did exactly the same. deleted all files except for conf and wallet.
started up the wallet and it did start up just fine, unlike before when it just would not start up, and synced quick enough.

i don't know what else to try now.

i am glad that the wallet is working at home and not dead on both ends.

Hi gullu, I have asked dasource to help u with the wallet, we will sort this out.

Here are the plans I have for our coin:

Dream Ecosystem that involves

1. Bank (or Dreamcoin storage would be a better name)
People can loan out and pay back Dreamcoins from here.

2. Ecosystem platform. From here people can join the ecosystem.

3. Dream Shop. From here people can buy goods that the Ecosystem provides.

4. Fiat - Dreamcoin exchange. From here people can buy and sell Dreamcoins with dollars and euros.

Dream Coin will also support arts and artist with grants, once it has a decent value. I have allready started to pay local artist here in Helsinki with Dreamcoins (everyone have been excited about them).

I have also wrote to our Dev Johnny and he has supported the idea. Because Dreamcoin is infact a coin that we the community hold together everyone has a saying about the path our coin will take. Tell me what u think about the Dream Ecosystem and we can fine tune the idea even better.

 - Tomi Sosunov, Dreamcoin assistant Dev, Animator/Producer

Ps. I will lay out a road map about the Dream Coin Ecosystem in the coming week

Hi,

I will ask Johnny or YarkoL to check it out (and the mystical wallet that Gullu has not working in one computer). I will publish the roadmap for Dreamcoin this week.

Yes, this seems to be true. There is a notice on their site. At the moment we have only one exchange and that is at allcoin.com

https://www.allcoin.com/trade/drm_btc

Remember to withdraw your funds from Poloniex.

I hate when I find news that has little to no notice... I am working on a strategy that should create a fair monthly demand for dream as well as still scouting a Java developer for our team... these exchanges lack any foresight and only seem to be interested in daily profit volumes and not a true stable build. No wonder there are so many shit coin scams...
Anyway I have reached out to poloniex and hopefully they will reconsider their actions....

I've talked to a friend in the Diem team who's
in good standing with Poloniex and he was cautiously
optimistic about revoking the delisting and that he'd
raise awareness over there about Dream.

At this point I guess we're all waiting to see the
roadmap.

Thank you Yarko.
At the moment I am looking for investment property owners (rental properties) that would be willing to accept dreamcoin for rent. This would fuel a monthly demand...
Without an exchange this maybe more difficult a task.
There are other things in the works as well. I am only one person and my days are spread thinly, unfortunately the way crypto is working a coin almost doesn't have a chance to mature before it is sent to pasture...
Anyway I am hopeful that poloniex and bittrex will reevaluate their operating models...
