No mate. Bitcoin paid for a spade for a guy in Africa. It paid for water charities to donate water to people without it. It helped people be reached who would not have otherwise be reached easily (or cheaply). Your real enemy here are the millions of corporations and cities (such as las vegas) who care 0% about how much power they use unless it affects their salary. The very fact that this question has been brought up to the community shows the positive power of bitcoin and its community over existing systems. Haha imagine the CEO of some las vegas casino or shopping centers and restaurants who use excessive lights on purpose for marketing and sales tactics asking "are we causing world hunger". It would never happen!. So bitcoin is not doing too bad ey

I find that hard to believe. In any case there is a lot more starvation in our future. Every hour of the day there are more people than the hour before. I hope we don't overshoot K in my lifetime. I got some bad news. We overshot K long before you were born. ... I fear your right. We would have reached 2 billion in about 1929. Look at how much growth there has been since! http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=world+population+1929+to+today

You could end world hunger with a lot of things. You could probably end world hunger by allocating 1 day per year out of the United States Military budget.

The idea that world hunger can be ended is a pipe dream.

Much like creating world peace, the only way to end world hunger is to kill everyone.

Here, in this forum, there are many early adopters who can give a big help to counteract the world hunger, bitcoins aren't the reason for that, but a way to eliminate it.
