Some days ago, the Catalan Integral Cooperative (CIC)* has became one of the first
social organizations of the iberian peninsula in accepting cryptocurrencies: bitcoin, litecoin and freicoin.

You can access at this link:  https://cooperativa.cat/en/donations/

This is only our first step in our accepting process for Bitcoin and other cryptos. We are planning
to open a marketplace at the beginnings of next year in order to lets our 1700 members to sell goods and services with differents currencies.

CIC promote firstly the social currencies https://cooperativa.cat/en/economic-system/social-currency-2/
and will continue doing it but see the cryptocurrencies as a good tool to leave fiat money and the traditional banking system.

* An Integral Cooperative is a tool to create a grassroots counterpower departing  from self-management, self-organization and direct democracy, and one that would help overcome the actual state of dependency on the structures of the system, towards a scenario of liberty full awareness, free of authority, and in which everyone could flourish under equal conditions and opportunities.

I did the first donation in bitcoins. Thanks for hosting the first "Barcelona Bitcoin Community" meetup and congratulations for the initiative of starting accepting bitcoins Smiley

Given Catalonia's revolutionary history, I would love to read more about the CIC. I read that Spain's third largest trade union is an anarchist organisation. I've read a bit around what's currently going on in Spain and it looks to be at the forefront of political change in the EU, with stuff like Can Masdeu and Calafou. I've been putting off for a year now the idea of moving to Spain to get involved in some of this stuff, mostly because as a non-Spanish speaker with no particular tie to Spain, I'm slightly daunted by the idea. Anyway, an English version of the CIC site would be a good idea, as you'd find a wider readership.

Either the Spanish government should end the oppression towards the non-Spanish minorities in Spain (such as the Catalans, Basques, Galicians.etc) or it should allow them to secede. I wholeheartedly support the CIC.

I'm really looking forward to the day that ground-root political movements learn about cryptos and their abilities. I'd dare say that a lot of secessions that will take place in the 21st century (and there will be a lot) will be using one.
