I hate Paypal. They are expert in ripping people without commiting a crime.

I think it's too early for conclusions like that. Maybe some day it will happen, but we now all we gotta do is to make it happen, not to get converstations about it

Does anybody know when the contract between PayPal & Ebay expires?

I don't think that Bitcoin will ever replace PayPal, but it'll be interesting to see what happens after the contract w/ ebay expires.

I don't think that Bitcoin will ever replace PayPal, but it'll be interesting to see what happens after the contract w/ ebay expires.

paypal and ebay are the same company. thy just divided it up for auditing/tax reasons so their partnership is not based on any timed contract or agreements. so you wont see them split apart.

paypal will never drop FIAT and be solely crypto currencies either. the world wont drop FIAT and go with only crypto. that is not how things work in reality. what you will find however is that paypal will accept crypto currencies ALONGSIDE fiat. Ebay (the parent company) will realise that by accepting crypto currencies that ever 25c advert no longer costs them 5c in admin and processing fee's due to the FIAT system, but customers using crypto to buy auction listings will spnd 25c worth of btc. and ebay will get 24.9c of profit, if not more.

this will make ebay more profitable and try to get customers to prefer crypto payments, by doing promotions. but paypal/ebay will never drop fiat.

at this current moment it is estimated that 0.0017% of the world is using bitcoin. even if every american used only bitcoin, that is still only a low percentage of the world.

you are never going to have 100% world adoption of bitcoin where bitcoin is the only world currency in existance (although id love to be proved wrong one day).. the most we can forsee in 10 years is a 5%-15% adoption (300mill-900mill population) where those people have both fiat and btc..

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

I'm not sure if it will ever replace Paypal but hopefully it'll take a massive chunk of their profits or force then to change their business practises. I think Bitcoin is going to need payment processors to go mainstream so maybe PP will incorporate Bitcoin at some point in the future. I know they're keeping an eye in it but hopefully at some point they'll be forced to implement it to compete in the market.
fully agree with you:-)
Let paypal go to the hell.Their fee is more than 6% ,it is crazy....

BTC can never beat paypal. Paypal protects, but btc is fully risk from both sides. So people still like only paypal.
the sellers never think like that.

Experience 1.

In March, i sold 5pcs of BTC miners, payment method is BTC escrow(1% escrow fee paid by buyer),i got the full BTC as soon as my customer confirmed receiving all miners.(even if exchange rate dropped from 560USD to 460USD/BTC,but i am still holding 30BTC in my wallet)

Experience 2.

In May,another 7pcs of BTC miners sold, payment method was Paypay,14644EURO(exchange rate 1.37,as 20020USD) paid, but only 17742USD received.Besides, the money was frozen at least 20days,only because my paypal is new account.(Honestly, paypal charged me so much.)

Experience 3.

I got paypal calling back, they asked me for 6000USD as deposit insurance,at least frozen 6months.And in future,60% of each payment will be frozen at last 45days.Besides,the money is not yours,it will be refunded to customers any time------------how can it be?

Do you guys meet over-charged by Paypal?

BTC/LTC finish payment fast and no fee,it will replace Paypal some day?

No.

Paypal is well ahead of any other payment processor and I believe nothing will beat them.

Don't be so sure about it.

as a miner supplier,i am happy if BTC transaction gets to NO.1 position:-)

In a few years, or so, and when more people accept it. Merchants, and as a currency. Though, getting ahead of Visa is what we should be worried about. Visa can bitch out Mastercard any day, and pretty much everything above. Visa is like the beast of currencies, with Bitcoin evolving.

I don't get how American Express is that far up, though? It's barely used in the state I live in. Nobody that I know even uses one.

I think Paypal is the worst, they allow people to chargeback what attracts scammers.
I really hope cryptocurrencies will kick paypal out of the market.
They charge way to many extra money, and allow people to steal easily.
so the problem left for BTC transaction is founding one platform for buying and selling:-(

I think BTC or LTC never replace Paypal
because Paypal is Good for Currency and Safe
But BTC or LTC we don't know 10 years ago is still safe or no

oh man, your opinion will be very unpopular here. paypal is not good for currency. they are one of the companies that would probably eliminate competition if it were possible, in order to be the only guy around.

agreed!

paypal seem to be fast these days for sending or getting cash into your account.
maybe it depends on your location but previously it would take a week withdraw funds, now it is a couple of days!

I think payment processors will always have their place in the world, or will at least for a really long time, but bitcoin will hopefully eat into their profits and business eventually. It's good to see companies like PP taking note of BTC though. I think theyre wise to.

If paypal refuse to implement bitcoin in some fashion then yes they could replace it, but I think paypal would see the competition from afar and adapt to compete with it.

As bitcoin becomes more secure and with more companies starting to adopt bitcoin as an alternative payment method, yes it will eventually topple over paypal in maybe 15 years or 20, however paypal will still be in the game.
