How much does the rocket miner rocket box cost in USD, i did not understand 990 mBTC on the website

I'm actually currently selling an RK-BOX for $600 USD - which does not include SH, or 1 BTC - which does include SH.  This is about $100+ less than the average on most websites.

What alternatives to cgminer are there for the R-Box? I mine other sha256 currencies, and the new versions of cgminer (the ones that support the R-Box) are Bitcoin only.

BFGminer works with the R-Box, but is buggy. It doesn't go over 32GH/s and there seems to be more hardware error with it, too. Sometimes it dies for no apparent reason, and there is some voodoo involved in even getting it to start.

What other options are there? I prefer command line miners, because my mining server is a really low-horsepower laptop. (That's why I love it, it uses very little power, but I can't run lots of graphical doodas while I'm mining.)

Looks like RMU3 is a bum-blade, really disappointing.

This is running with the only command line option --rmu-freq 290. When I set it to 300, CGMiner says the frequency is 270.

With Antec Bronze power supply, this is pulling 445W at the wall.

 RK-Box overlock command is "--rmu-auto 350".It is default setting.

We only support mining bitcoin, but cgminer can't really tell apart an altcoin mining sha256 from mining bitcoin so there really is nothing stopping you using it.

Has anyone managed to get their RK-BOX working with p2pool? It seems to submit too many bad shares too quickly addenda up causing CGMiner to crash and the PI to reboot.  Works fine on normal pools, and the problem seems to solely lie with using P2Pool.  Does the RK-BOX require a stratum server for P2Pool? I was under the assuming CGMiner supported stratum out of the box.  If there's something I'm missing here, please fill me in as I'm currently running a node that I can't use.

I'm really struggling. I thought I was using version cgminer 4.3.3 and at least I was getting it to work.

I thought upgrading cgminer would help. Unfortunately, I over-wrote my old directory and can't retrieve it to go back.

I have 1 RK-Box and 1 R-Box connected to my computer via USB.

When I use the latest CGMiner (4.4.1), the RK-Box blades perform like the R-Box... all around 35GH instead of 100+. This is running without any command line options. Am I missing anything?

Also, it seems the formatting of the ASIC-README.txt file included with CGMiner has changed. I can no longer read it with Notepad. I must use Wordpad. It was much better with the previous formatting.

There's no rk-box support in mainline cgminer (yet) so you're just getting the r-box driver trying to mine on it.

Formatting should be compatible with notepad. I'll check to see if my scripts are no longer converting the asic readme to windows format.

Is it possible to get the RK-BOX successfully working with P2Pool and CGMiner?  Or at all?

Rocket Boxes been mining for 24 hrs now. I'm having same ghs/watts as setup video. Seems real stable with pi image. I'm gonna replace fans tonight because of noise level. I'll post once I find a quite fan solution. By the way these fans suck air through miner, they do not push.

Update: I installed a manual fan control on my RK-Boxes that is working well to dramatically reduce the fan noise and still keep the blades cool. Highly reccomended if the Rocket Boxes are in your house. I just lowered fan speed and monitored during the hotest times of the day to get right setting for quiet cooling. Note: plastic guide on the end of the fan controller wires must be shaved down to fit on the miner. I used a knife, takes about 5 seconds, works well.

Oh don't worry, its a tentacle monster allright, but all the cables are internal. The only external you have is one ethernet and 4 PCI-Es which are all close together. If you've got one of those server PSUs you can almost put it 'in' the miner as well.

Noise levels are like an S1 when it ramps up a bit, but its totally overcooled. The chips closer to the fan are reporting 8-12C over ambient, those further away 22C over ambient. I've suggested putting a $5 fan on the other end and using software to lower the original fan down. Its a proper 4 pin fan so we have full control.

If the heatsinks had been put together instead of seperated they would have seen a much less air loss. Pretty bad on all the units we have

agreed. its unfair to advertise unit such as the rk-box to be running 450-480GH when the actual accepted hashrate is only 390-425GH considering the 9-13% reject rates ive seen
