That is interesting.  I would like to think that this means you're on the brink of getting it.  At the least, it looks like you have serial comms.  Maybe look for that error in cgminer? (Initiate stratum failed)  Let me know if you get anything more.

The stratum failure is unrelated, it's because I tried to connect on port 80 like a dumbass...  Not sure why it's not finding it really.  It must be driver differences.

I'm having issues with the block erupter not hashing on pools aside for ghash..not even stratum.btcguild.com works only with the 50.31.149.57 ip address. Is the T1 gonna be limited to the same pool selection as Asicminer Tube?

Unfortunately yes.  It's basically the same hardware inside, thus the same limitations.

Some people are working on a cgminer build that supports this with a usb adapter, but it's a ways off.

That USB to UART adapter is using the Silicon Labs CP2102 chip?
   CGMiner utilizes Zadig drivers and BFGMiner uses the SiliconLabs driver, in the past if you tried to switch miner software you had to completely remove Zadig before running BFG Miner.
  The Icarus devices in the past also required you to unplug then hot plug them back in to get the miner software to recognize and launch for work from stratum.

btcguild worked for me before. make sure you take away the "stratum+tcp://" bit. So:

stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com

eligius,bitsolo,f2pool but unfortunately not too stable...bfgminer would error out from 1-3 hrs and the miner looks like its connected but it wont hash.

Unfortunately I believe you are correct.  I've been looking at tubes for some time.  The controller has an incorrect stratum implementation and as such is unable to communicate with many pools.  One problem we were able to figure out, it returns an extranonce2 of the incorrect length, but there is another issue where it sends back something else wrong and does not wind up with a valid header, resulting in some pools giving an h-not-zero or similar error.  We've been using the latest build of ckproxy, which contains the extranonce2 fix and works with ozcoin (and some others).  At least it seems to crash less than once an hour, as some have noted of bfgminer.  bfgminer does have the advantage of working with more pools, however, as whatever the h-not-zero error is, bfgminer does not seem to get it.  If someone were to workout what was going on, it's possible that a better proxy could be made, but let's face it, no one really wants to use a proxy.

Anyway we can connect this to a rasp pi like btcgarden amv1x2? Looking for alternatives here...

This is something I'd REALLY like to pull off, but I'm not certain how difficult it will be.  R-T-B noted that the source for cgminer contains a reference to the rockminer T1, but looking at the code I have come to be unsure if it really means the T1.  First, it says in the comments that the rockminer T1 is the rocketbox and it appears that it has 12 chips. Perhaps the variable was just chosen very poorly before the T1 was anything- there's also a T2 for some reason.  Also it has limits on the baudrate which are substantially beneath the required 460800 baud required for the X24.

I have a device called a buspirate, which, apart from being useful for jokes about how it sounds a lot like buttpirate, is also useful for bidirectional USB-UART communication.  I was able to sniff the serial traffic coming from either direction, but I can't sniff both at once with the thing, so I've got no idea what the timings are and I failed to successfully spoof the board into believing it is hooked into a controller.  I need to build a better UART sniffer, probably chuck an AVR in there and read out of both RX and TX at the same time.

We have all the documentation on that github so I'd like to think we could successfully replicate a driver to run on the raspi, it's just going to be a question of effort.  I was really hoping friedcat would release fixed firmware but it seems not, at least he has carefully avoided saying anything to indicate that he would.

I am running them on MinePeon on a Raspberry Pi using BFG miner and getting about 110 gh/s.
I will have a review up soon with more details.
