how many confirmations required for a transaction??

0?
It depends who your sending it.
Someone can accept it with 0 confirm someone can accept it with 100 confirms.

any difference in using your local client or the web client?

Yes. Lots of difference. Running your local client is much safer.
Currently you must send your passphrase to the public clients, not because it's needed but because the client was put together that way. That will change soon.

We'll probably have our blockexplorer up tonight or latest tomorrow, you can safely check your balance from that.

how many confirmations required for a transaction??

In order to start forging we require 1440 blocks (or confirmations). For the rest it's up to you. There is always the risk of being on a fork, that risk decreases with the amount of blocks (confirmations).
Since FIM blocks go faster than NXT (30 seconds) the wait time to trust a transaction is *real/confirmed* is halved.

If someone send you some FIM and you must decide if the FIM is safely in your account so you can; send them your gold/release your hostages  Wink as a rule of thumb 720 transactions is considered pretty safe.
The client uses an indicator of 10+ considering 10 blocks relatively safe. Basically it all depends..

Alright, so do you have to run your client 24/7 in order to forge like NXT?

Thats up to you. You forge by the second. Every 30 seconds there is a block.

Help!

I logged in into DGEX, seen where my finds have been paid (FIMK account).

Then I downloaded the offline wallet, entered the passphrase from dgex and that passphrase created a different account, with no FIM in it!

Try the passphrase but with a space added to the end.

Ok, thanks. When will my effective balance update?

If you're a stakeholder there is some specialness where you can forge immediately after your first transaction. But only if you do that txn before block 2880!
Otherwise it takes 1440 blocks. This is to prevent people from moving their stakes around to trick the system.

Try the passphrase but with a space added to the end.
THANK you

You're welcome. Thanks for trusting FIMK!

It seems to work here. What did you enter in the search box?

But if we purchased via dgex we are recomended to transfer FIMK to new address and thus we cannot forge early.  Sad

I'm wondering how the forging reward will chance trading practices. With Nxt there are huge exchange wallets, tens of millions of coins for the bigger ones.
With FIMK there is a big incentive not to keep coins on exchange accounts.

Of course this depends on how exhanges will treat the forging earnings, but I don't see them distributing it. But at least fees should be nonexistent, the exchange could still make serious money by forging.

How it works forging?

In one hour I forged 3 blocks, in the next hour, none.

Thanks.

Each block you are getting a reward with a possibility equals to (your confirmed amount) / (sum of all confirmed amounts participating in forging in that moment).
