Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Well.. there still aint no proof. And "Raping litecoin for months" ?? That's total bs, that 6990 uses at least 350Watts. On my cpu's I do about .5 kh/s per watt so the gpu is only 42% more efficient per watt. Even if this is true it's not a big story really.

Firstly you don't know how many watts it uses to mine scrypt, secondly this is early days (hours even). The original SC GPU miner is about 50% slower than what is available now. And future versions will likely extend that for SolidCoin.

As to scrypt, anything between 50% and 200% increase over what is there now wouldn't surprise me. You can pretty much kiss scrypt mining on CPU goodbye because unlike the custom SolidCoin algorithm it isn't a good all round choice for both GPUs and CPUs on a watt for watt basis.

Just let me ask you this. Where is _any_ proof that art or cobblee are(were doing that? Remember the "penis" botnet? More likely its your corrupted being that now tries to "scare" people away from "dishonest" projects.. There has been so far but one Chain creator out here that used a botnet to stabilize his chain and later to ddos other networks and pools...

Sorry RS.. that was again one of your less bright ideas to come up with.

Please dear Mods, remove this thread altogether or send it to offtopic.. nothing but accusations and claims with no real worth..

SC is a much better currency even when comparing to Bitcoin, but when it comes to so called "mining profitability" both LTC and BTC are better currently. That was part of the recent economic change, until SC is valued more highly then mining won't be very tempting to many people.

We could have mined secretly with GPU for much time and got many litecoins doing it. So please put it in perspective about why we are releasing this info to the public.

Sure i am.. I was the "penis" botnet. Mined SC with a pool of.. uhh 400 PCs or so..
No wait.. i had a secret Artforz GPU miner for SC and was able to come up with >50% of the whole SC network with just my single 6850...

One question i just get into my mind.. if Art had such an increadibly wonderful miner.. why not making it publicly available? From what i read so far anything that could harm SC would be something he would release.. and such a wonderweapon would be something for it..

Because attacking public opinion about your competitors is worth more to you than pure anonymous profit? It's not hard to imagine the perspective of an anonymous con man running a Ponzi scheme.

CoinHunter, if you were just doing a public service to announce this, shouldn't the title for this post be "GPU mining on litecoin possible!" instead of accusing me of something that you have absolutely no proof of because I'm not doing it. If an efficient GPU miner for scrypt is possible, this is the first time I'm hearing it. I'm no expert in scrypt, but a few knowledgeable people I know have looked at it and determined that it is designed to not work well on GPUs. Is it possibl that they are wrong? sure, but until I see solid proof, this is just another FUD post from CoinHunter.

Recently one of our developers mtrlt spent about 4 hours adding scrypt support to Reaper, the SolidCoin GPU miner.

http://solidcointalk.org/topic/545-litecoin-scrypt-gpu-miner/

It currently gets ~250KH/s on a 6990 . This is after only 4 hours of optimization. Is it possible the "botnet" or "darkpool" mining Litecoin is actually artforz and coblee who have been mining LiteCoin using an unfair advantage since the start? Conning litecoin users into thinking it's a CPU mining chain when in fact the GPU dominates it?

Artforz is on the record as saying his GPU miner of scrypt only got 9KH/s on a 6870 GPU. Something suspicious here when our developer can get massive improvements over CPU with only 4 hours of effort. Either artforz is terrible at creating GPU miners or he lied to litecoin users.

Or maybe the dark pool is you and mtrlt mining LTC for an unfair advantage the whole time and only now saying you have a miner.

I am no GPGPU expert, but I think ArtForz made some very good points in the following thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45849.0
CoinHunter could make his claims convincing by simply explaining how to address the GPU limitations outlined by ArtForz.

I heard that all SolidCoin blocks fund transfers to CoinHunter's personal wallet. When he gets tired of playing with SolidCoin, he's planning on cashing them out and killing the chain.

Well.. since everyone knows now that cobblee and artforz have a top secret gpu miner.. and i am part of the dozen people who are allowed to use it.. let me share it with all of you:

Code:
The miner is written in plain C# and doesnt need any special libraries besides what you have anyway. I havent tested it, but since it is written in MONO on windows it might be cross platform compatible... For more hash you have to tweak lines 31 and 32.. but dont expect too much, its just a preview of what cobblefart is.. By the way.. fun is: You can set it to any pool you like.. its speed sucks on bitcoin but is a bomb on Solidcoin and Scrypt - and its wattage is awesome. Not much more than simple idle power consumption at 200kh
