Recently I requested payment from my mining pool. The payment has been sent, but it didn't arrive at my wallet. During my investigation, I noticed my Bitcoin address changed without my request. How come that could happen? Is it connected with my recent change of method of connecting to the Net from Wi-Fi to cable (IP address remains the same, only the way I connect my PC to the router changed). How can I prevent this situation from happening again in the future?

You have the old address(es) too, it just displays a new one when you ask it too or when you receive (maybe?). You can see them all in the address book under receiving.
