Hi guys. I can do some things for Cloak, also buying them so might as well promote it to add value. If everyone does his part for the amount of coins he/she holds then this coin can become real big.
I have been promoting Cryptogenic Bullion since last year and have gathered some information and experience that can be usefull for Cloak as well. I really like coins with rare parameters (and POS) and Cloak is just picking up steam, it's great.   Anyhow the result from putting information to work depends on community efforts because things need to be done that require more people. Ofcourse many already are involved and are contacting exchanges, vote, add or develop a service or promotion, write articles, create art, etc. but also many probably don't even know what they can do to help. I believe when a cryptocurrency is decentralized then many development and marketing should also happen decentralized, so the success depends on the accumulative result of everyones efforts and involvement. As many as possible should put their talent to work and help with adding value to everyone's coins then we all be happy when it shows on the charts.
What do you think. Cheesy

panic dump  Huh

Just the usual day trader correction.  These ups and downs have been so predictable that it's really easy to pick up more cloak everyday. If you look at 1 week charts the growth looks good.  If price is all you care about.  Cloak tech is cool stuff to me.

Help is always welcome! You should contact the devs and let them know about your interest in cloak.

Incase anyone here is interested in what goes on during testing:

Quote
<bobbyshmurda> can u tell us how u test posa Gnome?
<bamb0000> like anything good it'll be well worth the wait
<MrRGnome> Sure
<mgp> It´s possible to enter in the test just to see if it's true?
<MrRGnome> You can see it, we did it last night very successfully and posted in the bct thread
<MrRGnome> You don't need to enter the test to see that it's tru
<MrRGnome> *true
<theoretical> We are sending coin's to each other trying to trace etc
<bobbyshmurda> oh ya theres a link to testnet or something right?
<theoretical> Yup
<MrRGnome> What we do is we're making PoSA transactions witheachother, sharing the walelts we both sent and recieved with, all the transaction information - and we try to track down any information that might link to us ont he block chain
<theoretical> http://testnet.cloakchain.info/chain/TestNet
<bamb0000> haha we're bouncing right back to 13k
<MrRGnome> The result is what we've described so far:
<MrRGnome> It looks like transactions using PoSA generate new anonymous addresses for each send and recieve for starters. They aren't normal addresses.
<bobbyshmurda> i sees
<MrRGnome> So your wallet address, when you look it up ont he blockchain - if all you've been doing is PoSA transactions you don't even see your address the network says it has never seen it before
<MrRGnome> So that's the start
<theoretical> 44 BTC buy down to 100k
<MrRGnome> Then it seems to blow the transactions up into dust amounts
<bobbyshmurda> nice
<Nukleuz> thanks for the hard work devs and beta testers
<Nukleuz> making history =)
<MrRGnome> And it passes that dust through various stakers wallets
<gatti> i'm 120 at trex
<gatti> feel free to dump
<MrRGnome> Those stakers act as anonymizes, they don't have the real address for where any of that dust came from or an idea of how much was actually sent
* Alty1 (~alty@unaffiliated/alty) has joined
* ChanServ gives channel operator status to Alty1
<theoretical> im 120 and 111 @ MP you know who to shit on
<MrRGnome> That dust could be miners fees or whatever for allt hey know
<bobbyshmurda> thats great
<bobbyshmurda> love the work
<MrRGnome> So it goes around the stakers, being anonymized. Since there are so many stakers it's like every single person is a masternode, which solves a lot fo problems that dark coin has such as coentralized control of nodes
<MrRGnome> Then all the transactions are slowly passed through the same stakers until they are deposited to again a newly generated anonymous address not associated to anything else on the wallet
<MrRGnome> Thus niether side of the transaction is able to figure out shit.
<theoretical> And there are extra fees that all stakeing wallets pick up
* Hbibhibiub has quit (Ping timeout: 246 seconds)
<theoretical> so in effect we are all masternodes And collect those extra fees (masternode payments DRK)) By just stakeing
<MrRGnome> ^^
* alty has quit (Ping timeout: 250 seconds)
<theoretical> So if this coin goes to $10 You could make a extra 15 coins a day if you heavy stake some good blocks
* CoinadaINC (d8dd48cc@gateway/web/cgi-irc/kiwiirc.com/ip.216.221.72.204) has joined
<MrRGnome> It's pretty ground breaking stuff.
<mgp> We need to have cloaks in the wallet or an empty wallet can be a (master)node?
<CoinadaINC> gnome
<CoinadaINC> invite me to test plz
<MrRGnome> I've been calling it the Tor of money, if Tor blew transactions into pieces before farting them into the wind

All staking wallets will be nodes, I like that concept.

Question, since drkcoin has only a few master nodes, wouldnt it be easy for an attacker to just DDOS those nodes and bring a halt to payments?

Some thoughts: If this PoSA feature is not open sourced, it will never be fully trusted. So, eventually it will have to be open sourced (same goes for all other similar anonymizing methods on other coins). Question is, if it is open-sourced, will it still be secure and anonymous or it will be possible to track transactions?

Most of the software you are running on your computer is not open source but rather proprietary, yet you trust it.  The reason to open source this code is to help other developers implement it themselves and also to receive testing and improvement ideas for the devs of CLOAK.

No.  Just because you can see the source does not mean you can tamper with the block chain.

Actually, open sourcing PoSA will make it even stronger. Any method of security that must remain closed source can't be trusted. The peer review process of open source only makes security implementations stronger in the long run. Even with PoSA's release looming on the horizon it will likely be improved many times in the coming weeks and months.

Yet if you release it as open source, all the hard work of the cloak devs will be up for grabs for copy cat clones, thus making Cloak less valuable/desirable because now every new shit coin will have PoSA.  I say keep it closed, this is Cloak tek not copy and paste code shitcoin tek.  Plus, perhaps being open source would make it easier to reverse engineer something to defeat the anon?
