I had this same "not authenticated" stuff on another miner app on dwarfpool.
I guess it's not only claymore's miner, but also the pool.

Not a pool bug, it is version 9.7 issue, 9.6 runs fine.

Why fee mining speed differ from user speed?

for those who missed it in the OP: -

Q: I see too many devfee shares, it looks like devfee is 50%!

A: It's not true, please learn some theory about pool mining.
Some pools use vardiff - they change share target according miner speed. If miner is slow, pool set lower target share, and vice versa. It allows miner to send shares regularly, both fast and slow miners will send similar number of shares per minute, pool will not be overloaded by shares from fast miners and it will not lose slow miners that cannot find valuable shares often. By the way, when you mine solo the share target is block target (very high) so you will find shares very rarely but they will solve blocks and therefore will have maximal value.
Low share target means that miner will find a lot of cheaper shares, high share target means that miner will find fewer shares but they will be more valuable.
When share is found, miner displays share target, for example:

SHARE FOUND (target 10000)

or

DevFee: SHARE FOUND (target 1000)

Compare current targets for main and devfee connections. From example above, 10 devfee shares at target 1000 cost as one share at target 10000.
But devfee mining is very slow and therefore pool uses x10 lower target. So you see a lot of devfee shares but they are much cheaper than main shares.

Hi

I have 4 rigs that work perfectly with Zcash (Claymore miner 9.2 no crashes whatsoever until now)

1)  7 x R7 370 ; windows 10 ; Crimson 15.12
2)  7 x R7 370 ; windows 10 ; Crimson 15.12
3)  2 x Rx480 + 4 R9 380 ; Crimson 16.9.2
4)  6 x Rx480 ;  Crimson 16.9.2

Monero is quite profitable at the moment, Rigs 1 and 2 worked perfectly with monero  miner 9.6.
However recurrent crashes occur with rigs 3 and 4. Sometimes after 15min, sometimes after a few hours.
I have no clue of whatever is wrong !

Maybe Crimson 16.9.2 is not what I need for monero miner??

Help.

We are waiting for new miners, but generally pass on 9. 5 and you will have happiness!

Rig 3 ans 4 seem stable now. I installed this driver non-whql-win10-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-16.11.4-nov15.
Getting around 700H/s for the Rx480 and 530 H/s for the R9 380 (no overclocking). Running fine for more than 6 hours now.
I'll watch and see  Shocked

********** Over 30 hours now ... works nicely...

Hey, can you please post what kind of hashrates are you getting for single cards ? Also I wandered what is power draw for mining xmr vs mining zec ? I'm mining Zcash at the moment but I think of switching to Monero

I mean speed as H/sec, not Shares/sec ...vardif doesn't take place in this calculation?
Found too that overclock doesn't matter even with 20% downclock = always same mining speed.

"-powlim x" option does not work! - unknown option.

Confirmed, will be fixed in next update.

Hi Mr C

Thanks for new version, http monitoring is nice.
Would it be possible to introduce something like "-li 2" with even smoother Windows desktop?
If I compare with your ZEC miner, then there -li 1 works fine, but with XMR miner it is not nearly as good.

Power draw depends on overclocking. From my experience, with no overclocking,
for Rx 480 and R9 380,  ZEC draws around 10%   more power than XMR.
for Rx 470 ,  ZEC draws around 5%   more power than XMR.
for older card such as R9 280x,  ZEC draws almost same power than XMR.

So, which is profitable depends on how much costs electricity in your area.

No way, my old cards mining XMR with about 20-30% lower power than ZEC.

I think it could even be that dwarf pool op really dislikes the "invalid shares", so it responds with garbage on purpose.

https://xmr.suprnova.cc/ is working perfectly for those looking for a proper pool, and the pool op is great.

9.7 is perfectly stable across my 20+ rigs. If you're having issues with it, it's either your pool crapping out or your rigs aren't properly configured.

And then i got banned from dwarfpool.

well it says it all, you aren't authenticated, that's why your share get rejected and got banned.

What cmdline are you using to connect to pool ? have you checked your user name, if you mine directly to exchange you checked you were using wallet.paymentId as user ?
same issue on Dwarf with 9.7 , after a while im getting banned IP error , 9.6 is unstable with nitro+ rx480 (works ok couple hours , then reboots for no visible reason) , 9.5 is rock stable with -a 4

Hello, the same issue with 9.7 on Dwarf after 1 hr. normal mining.
buf: {"id":4,"jsonrpc":"2.0","error":{"code":-1,"message":"Unauthenticated"}}
On other hand, on other rigs with different service providers networks, no such issues.

Claymore, i was wondering if u can make ur miner auto-reconnect to the pool when we get any of the jsonrpc issues. I noticed that the miner mines well and then it has the "jsonrpc problem" and after 15 min it says "it didnt find a new job..." and it connects again with the pool and it works fine again.

But Right now i have around 5% of rejected shares cuz i have to wait 15 min or being live monitoring the miner to hit the "r" button. It would be great if the miner does it automatically.

btw thanks for the upgrade. Love this miner.
