Hi 7770!
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=radeon+7770&x=0&y=0

Hi 7750!
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121558&Tpk=radeon%207750

I know they're not as attractive as the 79xx series, but since the 5770 and 6770 had an interesting 100$ for 200 MHash/s, I suppose it could be interesting to check it out. But sadly, they have less SPU than the 6770.

640 SPU for the 7770, 800 SPU for the 6770
512 SPU for the 7750, 720 SPU for the 6750

looks like they'll be pretty pathetic for hashing purposes.
here's to hoping the 78XX has some better offerings.

I thought 6770 was VLIW5, so the higher spu count is mostly irrelevant.

Did the maths on the 7770... somewhere around 215 Mh/s, It's little bro, the 7750, does 172.

mind you this is quick and dirty off that we've seen a 7970 do.

So yeah, same hashrate as the 57x0/67x0 cards, but a much smaller power requirement.

What are the specifications of a GPU which affect hashrate?

What is SPU?

Thanks

I ordered that Asus 7750 today just for fun. Although the stats I saw had it at 832 SPUs...ooopsie. Still, it is rated @ 55w max, so we'll see. I'll post a detailed review this weekend.

check this out: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7770/Pages/radeon-7770.aspx

"Fold and mine faster than ever with AMD App Acceleration powered by the unprecedented 28nm GCN Architecture."

You have to keep in mind, that GCN is much more efficient than VLIW4 or VLIW5.

I'm really interested in it's performance! Although I don't expect it to be more than 170Mhs at stock clocks, still... If you could try to downclock it to as low voltage as possible at stock clocks and measure power consumption, that'd be perfect =)))

While I do not know the hashes, the specs on these cards vs the price should make them not a great mining card.

The 7850 on the other hand should be quite interesting.

Not even close. Check here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64241.20

Max for 7770 is around 180 Mh/s with significant overclocks

<GrammarNazi> "Radeon 7750 and 7770" is a plural subject; you need say, not saysWink </GrammarNazi>
