BitPay rate: <£400
BitBargain rate: >£600

I'm not blaming BitPay - with such massive divergence between the exchanges I don't envy anyone trying to come to a fair rate but their claim 'Buyers will always get a better value by spending their bitcoins at a BitPay merchant than by selling them on an exchange. ' is far from being the case right now.
