Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Please post any websites that list businesses accepting bitcoins.

Here's a few to start:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade  (the trade wiki)
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Real_world_shops  (map associated with wiki)
http://www.bitcoinmap.com/
http://bitcoin.travel/

Here's a master list, kjlimo, albeit you're asking for something else entirely. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade

I believe you're seeking a list of sorts to show perspective businesses other sites currently accepting Bitcoin, whereas the one I provided may have too much noise and include broken links. It may take awhile to glean what you're seeking from this list, but the results should prove worthwhile. Once done, share the new list with the rest of us so that we can also use it for the same approach.

I've been checking the links in the wiki for the past 4-5 hours. I've removed all broken links, and some e-shops which don't have bitcoin as payment option has been marked as such.

Web design in most links is AWFUL (even in the design section). It was difficult to check all links without wanting to rip my eyes off. Also it's very poorly categorized. I've put a warning in sites with autoplay music or sound.

Now the problem is the noise. There are too many sites that aren't of interest of almost anybody but happen to accept bitcoin donations.

I've found some gems, though. I didn't know uploaded.to (which I use sometimes since megaupload was shut down) could be payed in bitcoins. One musician that I used to listen several years ago also accepts bitcoin (paniq, part of the demoscene group farbrausch).

My idea is that there are tons of websites (I'm assuming) that are promoting businesses that accept bitcoins.

Part of my pitch to "sell" bit-pay.com & bitcoins is to help the businesses get some "free" advertising.

I plan to personally work with these websites to get new businesses accepting bitcoins onto as many websites as possible.

The Bitcoin List

I'll be the first to admit it's not as comprehensive as the wiki since I update it all myself, but it is a little easier to navigate. I get quite a few referrals from search engines and am averaging over 100 page views a day since launching in May 2011.

Getting listed is easy and free: just send me a PM or use the Contact Page and I'll be happy to add your text and any links or images you want to provide.

Still around.

I appreciate you taking the time to share a website that is accepting bitcoin; however, my list is intended to list websites that are promoting other businesses and/or websites accepting bitcoin.

Looks like you're already on the wiki page as well as Thebitcoinreview.

However, you may wish to contact The Bitcoin List!

Thanks for starting this thread.  Last week I thinking I should find some bitcoin sites to promote our business.

How does one get posted on The Trade Wiki page?

Just like other wiki pages, you can create an account and edit the page yourself.

Hi, I'm running BitcoinCounsel.. I'm mainly concentrating on Bitcoin focused businesses for my directory but I have no issues putting up regular businesses that also accept bitcoin, there are a few of those on there already.

My goal is to have the businesses ranked, so that just a glance will show you which businesses are worth checking out and which ones probably aren't.

The bitcoinmap is only as good as the info fed into it.  People can submit their location & business.  If no one has submitted (or even removed previous) entries from the Australia region, then this map won't have anything.

I encourage you to submit some of those locations & businesses to the map.  I agree that it doesn't look like that website is getting many updates.

I started this forum to try and keep track of where new businesses can get listed to promote the fact that they are involved with bitcoin.  I've been using this list as a tool to get brick & mortar stores accepting bitcoins near my local area (none so far Sad).

I'm not really making any money for them to do it.  I'm just hoping to be able to use my bitcoins and for them to become more valuable as more people learn about them.  Therefore, what I'm offering the businesses is free marketing on this forum and on this list of websites.
