Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

A couple of weeks ago there was this guy in this thread and the speculation thread who wanted to purchase a large amount of AEON. Well, I guess he decided to go through with his plans! Grin

Aeon really burned me  Grin. I lost more than half of my investment. Luckily it was a small amount  Undecided

Actually this was my first investment ever without knowing what it is all about. What does make Aeon special wrt to other anon coins like Dash or Monero ? Or is it just a copy ?

Monero and DASH have nothing in common.
AEON and Monero  were similar 2 years ago.

Now 100 developers work on Monero. How could you expect to be the same?  Yes Monero is open source so anyone can take its code and put it in AEON, but it still needs manpower to do it. It will not jump by itself.

This might answer your question http://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/1393/what-is-the-aeon-currency
Or just keep an eye on the AEON subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Aeon/ In case you have any questions you might find an answer over there as well Wink

Web front end needed restart Smiley All good now!
This happens a few times a week, I believe it is due to invalid requests by internet robots that are looking for website information that is used in validating google (and other search engines) searches.

Perhaps a well crafted robots.txt can take care of that.

AEON FOR THE FUTURE - kidding?

Just downloaded last version of AEON daemon and started it.

Bloody shame, it still use 6G of RAM while blockachain size 3.5G itself Sad
It's way to hell dude, not to future.

Last XMR, BCN, XDN and FCN consume 1-2 G of RAM all together.

The pruning version runs pretty easily in 2 GB and I've been told people have used it in 1 GB.

Less memory usage is coming.
