also have some problems with synchronization of blockchain after creating a new wallet. after 5 hours of synchronization the blockchain is downloaded but it can't save it! And another problem with new wallet after it starts and begin synchronization it runs and slowly take whole of free RAM. i left it for 24 hours but still can't save the blockchain. if i finish the process i'll need to begin from zero block. Can some body help me? Win 7 x64

If your computer has 4 GB of RAM or less, you're gonna have a bad time.

How long does downloading the blockchain take on a not so good internet connection? I have spent maybe 5 hours a day downloading it for 2 days. I'm still at only about 30%. Is there a way to boost this up?

Sync could take up to 40 hours I believe. I neither support aeon nor do I hold it, but as Im a monero fanatic I can say that outrageously prolonged syncing time is one of those issues that keep me from having an operation wallet up and running on my computer. Ive never waited for coin wallets to sync up 100%, always shut them down halfway to the finish line.

Anyone know if a remote node exists yet?

I keep all my crypto assets on an extremely underpowered netbook, which seems to be incapable of adequately running a local node.

One can only dream of the fantasy blockchains that can exist in a world where almost everyone has at least 512 TB of RAM and access to terabit Ethernet.

Account is back under control of the real AmericanPegasus.

I don't know of one but this would be a good way for an interested community member to contribute. That's where the Monero remote nodes come from.

Bear in mind that remote nodes will compromise your privacy even more than on Monero for now (because Monero has several improvements on that which we don't have yet). But if you don't care too much about privacy for now and just want to run a wallet, it is a reasonable option.

Is there a mine for cpu and gpu I can use that is not minergate gui as it hurts the h/s.

Edit.. found claymore gpu works with aeon on minergate pool.. still looking for cpu miner that's not minergate gui..
I need a windows and Ubuntu just for testing.

I get 400 h/s on fx6100 on virtual box Linux and only 100 on minergate gui windows.

Also got this running on few old phones on neoneon miner

If you are running a node would you please do 'print_pool_sh' (NOT print_tx) and see if this transaction 2d1f88a0c67ca908695abd69dcd97c3039dee0041ce013df7f946dfe1d6bf73c is in your mempool

If so please PM me.

Important update on the syncing problem. READ THIS!

I've identified the problem and I'm testing a fix. Unfortunately it looks like there is going to need to be a rollback to block 798358. I do not recommend making any further transactions at this time until after the fix.

Coins that you sent since block 798358 will be returned to you if you rescan your wallet after the fix. If you received coins after block 798358 they will be lost unless you get the sender to resend them. This is unfortunate, but it is the nature of experimental blockchain software. I will consider reimbursement from the development fund if anyone wants to make a well-supported claim.

The problem involves an inconsistent data state that was incorrectly allowed to occur. Not only did this break syncing but it caused uncertain but very possible corruption of blocks after the error. The bug affects both nodes that have applied the recent update and those that have not, so it is a very old bug (the previous update was well over a year ago, and the related code had not been changed then either).

I'll have more updates when I have a fix ready to deploy.

I apologize to everyone for the inconvenience.

Urgent mandatory hard fork update (Phoenix 0.9.8.0)

This mandatory hard fork release corrects a problem which allowed a recent block to enter the chain data store despite a missing transaction.
Also contains additional bug fixes from Monero (credit moneromooo and warptangent)

All nodes will require resyncing after installing this update. In addition any blocks that are part of the invalid chain starting at height 798358 will be rejected.

Nodes continuing to advertise the invalid blocks will be dropped and eventually banned. This may initially produce a high volume of error messages.

Wallet rescan may be necessary to recover coins spent in the invalid chain. Wallet rescan after resync is highly recommended in any case. To rescan, rename or move the wallet.bin file and start the wallet normally.

Windows binaries are not yet available and will be provided ASAP.

So how long to wait for the WIN binaries?

Unwillingness to support Win lead us, Win users to completely abandon this coin.

Trades will most likely not be affected (though I have no say over what they do, this is just my guess). However, deposits and withdrawals will probably need some adjustment. I'm in touch with them so we will see what they say.

Also, everyone please take note. Blocks are being solved very slowly (approximately 1 block/hour) until more of the hash rate is upgraded and/or the difficulty adjusts. The latter will start to happen within the next few blocks, so it shouldn't take too long
