What block should we be on now with update? Wallet sync suggests 799518 is top block but other pools are in the 798xxx. Am saving current wallet sync at this time and cannot look. How to confirm chain is correctly synced with 0.9.8.0 update?

Latest block right now:

id:     <97a757763c94daf9f1d8d62c58735e04cd49bfeb44332935c895f616e73ea90c>
PoW:    <179aedc26e5566e49a365e3d2b4761dc7d41a83e3b8d5f2e63ebdae407000000>
HEIGHT 798833, difficulty:      82866055
block reward: 18.193170674478(18.193170674478 + 0.000000000000), coinbase_blob_size: 250, cumulative size: 250, 14(0/14)ms

If your wallet sync is showing 799xxx that means you are connecting the wallet to an unmatched node or you need to do a wallet rescan (move wallet.bin out of the way and restart simplewallet with just the .keys file present)

This my 3rd attempt since last night from different computers wallets syncing fresh to get into the 798xxx blocks, I have not even launched wallet yet, and have not become synced yet. Daemon says synced but always 2 days behind and displays as block to reach in the 799xxx. I will do as you say. I have 2 pools, one public and one private and one wont sync to update and other has been mining in the 799xxx ever since update Sad   Ill keep trying , I keep thinking I am doing something wrong but I am not that inept! Thanks as always!

Screen shots of disparity in chain:

This is a shot of aeon.sumominer.com pool (supposedly on the correct fork) with network hash shown at 329 KH (below their own pool speed)
and at block height 798850

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1kO2IWa-HLTc29WWElMTUVvbHM

This is a shot of my private pool which has been untouched since .0.9.6.0 and show network support of over 1MH at block 799526
I cannot connect to the fork that sumo and krypto pools are on , even when syncing from another computer from fresh
There is no consensus in the net and I keep connecting to the "wrong/old/strongest" fork is what I suspect. How can we instruct everyone on how to get this fixed? As I am not having success it appears many others are still on the original fork as well=confusion.

Hi, all

Unfortunately I still see a problem with the data store. It looks like there is going to need to be another fix which may or may not invalidate blocks. I don't know yet and I'm on a plane right now so I can't analyze it right away.

Will follow up soon.

EDIT:

preliminary analysis does not show a problem but i will be doing some further tests. for now i believe the new release and data store or are okay. that is not a guarantee, just my best opinion

After some more investigation I don't see any problem. I was misreading the output of one of the daemon commands. Sorry for the false alarm. I'll continue to keep an eye on things but at this moment it looks like everything is working correctly.
when the release of Window?

Windows
+++ Huh

WINDOWS DOWNLOAD

Win users can download binaries here (Win64 only):

Code:
---------------------------
Checksum information
---------------------------
Name: aeon-win64-v0.9.8.0.zip
Size: 3965355 bytes (3 MB)

SHA256: 7E08189B2821B356C621DB359CB2265C9E4F52363FDB2988207DA064725E25F7

The binaries were compiled from Github source code and work well for me but they are not official ones, so always checksum and scan for viruses to be sure (like anything else downloaded for Windows).

UPDATE: OFFICIAL BINARIES HERE (thanks @Arux)

Thank you Arux and Smooth for your quick fix! Can you verify the current block height (799,150) and approx hashrate  (646,000 H/s)  of the correct chain ?

Are Chainradar and Minergate on the correct fork?

This what I see:

That difficulty corresponds to approximately 640682.4875 H/s

I don't know, sometimes they take a while to get up to date on these things. I have contact info for minergate and sent them the info but I don't for chainradar.

Thank you. You confirmed what I suspected. I appreciate all the hard work you have done for AEON. You turned something that could have wrecked coins led by a lesser developer into just a minor network hiccup. I look forward to seeing how AEON develops from here.

Speaking of block explorers are there any devs interested in creating one for AEON? I am sure many AEON community members would donate to that cause

I still see transactions occurring on the wrong fork:
https://minergate.com/blockchain/aeon/blocks

I wonder who is making them and why.  Have we heard from all AEON pool operators yet?
