Quick question, is github.com/aeonix the correct one to use? I see there is an aeon fork on github.com/iamsmooth which appears to be more recent. Sorry if this was already answered, I looked a few pages back and didn't find a clear answer
Yes, aeonix is the official repo, iamsmooth is smooth's repo where stuff happens before getting merged to official one. |

If you have the donations fund you don't need pay a development team.
Try to negotiate with exchanges, HITBTC will list AEON for sure if you are willing to pay.
HitBTC already said on twitter they are going to list AEON. We didn't have to pay. https://twitter.com/hitbtc/status/864491788299628545Very good news if it will happens. I asked guys who close to Hitbtc team to list AEON but I was told Hitbtc bosses don't like this coin or probably team behind it, this hate is very old and Hitbtc will never list AEON. So I will hope they are changed their mind and in case of listing I will be really very glad  |

Hi there, a newbie here! i just bought some aeon, i already have my moneros in a paper wallet, which I generated with moneroadress.org offline. I see that it also alows creating aeon paper wallets? Am i right? Just changing monero for aeon the generated wallet will be for aeons?? Finally, i do not know how to check my moneros balance in the block explorer, just searching for my monero adress does not show the balance. How to know that my coins have reached succesfully?Even if the transaction has been completed. Can somone guide me?? Thank you!! |

One of the prominent features of the CryptoNote protocol is that you can't find your wallet address on the blockchain thanks to a mechanism commonly referred to as "stealth addressing". You need to scan the whole blockchain using your private view key to recognize all outputs that belong to your wallet address. Furthermore, your private spend key is needed to generate a key image for each output which tells you if the output has already been spent or not (thus telling you the correct balance of your wallet). If you're not allergic to math, I highly recommend giving a read to the CryptoNote whitepaper: https://cryptonote.org/whitepaper.pdfAlthough it came with the shady launch of Bytecoin, I find the content genuinely sophisticated and fascinating. Crypt2skate it would appear that you do not have libboost-dev installed, use apt-get or synaptic to find and install this. Make sure all other deps are installed too. Hope that helps.
Thanks, I'll try that when I get back to my PC. I thought I had all dependencies met, but I guess I might have missed libboost-dev. Appreciate the help. |

There was a question raised by the recent cryptonote bug and exploit that was discovered and reported by Monero. The fix was integrated into AEON some time ago, and even though I had already done so, I went ahead and again did a full scan of the chain today to double check that there were no exploits used in AEON.

Pushing $0.50 per coin right now; that's quite the growth spike. Overall though AEON has been climbing steadily, so we shall have to wait to see if it continues on upwards to $1/coin within the next 6 months. |

Aeon is the highest class of the cryptonote coins, it never went through a scumbag phase like Monero, or a protracted 'no dev but lets cover that fact with noise' phase like boolberry. Asia is going berzerk with coins at the moment. Aeon is a solid coin, if it gets some Asian exposure soon it could be a very strong coin. Smooth has always been a gentleman online, aeon supporters have always been civilized. The other major cryptonote coins cannot say that, and factors like that might be important eventually. |

Hi there,
I'm a newbie with aeon and mining. Now i'm trying to mine AEON on my free Server (Debian 8, 24 Core E5-2620, 24GB ram).
I'm using aeon-stak-cpu to mine, but there is a problem: my miner only use a single thread and the hash is low
