Network's hashrate is growing up every day. This currency is very profitable now for miners.
AEON is not profitable for mining since May. oh really? it was like 0.5$ per day, same as Monero, now just a a 20% less profits than monero, cause of if skyrocketing Monero's exchange rate but you can easily mine about 0.5 of aeon per day and send it to exchange on monero case you have to mine like 2 weeks.. that's why for me aeon is better |

In case of hitbtc i can not remember if it uses a payment id, does someone know?
Hitbtc deposits need only wallet address. To withdraw AEON need payment id and wallet address. Please do not try to confuse the newbies in the thread. HitBTC does not need the payment_id for deposits and withdrawals. Their wallet was set up the same as any other cryptocoin's wallets. All you need is put the amount and the public address. AEON is not profitable for mining since May. I mined AEON with the hope that it would grow. As we see the price of a little bit growing, it's good I hope by the end of the year we see $ 3 - $ 4. For a better price increase, the dev must create a normal wallet without the command line, with GUI. |

AEON is not profitable for mining since May. I have a Ryzen 1700@3650, and have 2,2 Kh... with 50ºc (ambient 35º) 15 low priority/threads with minor performance penalty and 80 W. CPU package power (HWiNFO64). I think AEON it's a very good profitable CPU miner coin. |

Why we couldn't take fresh Monero release and fork it again - the same way as it was done initially?
What do you mean? Restart everything from scratch again? I reckon that it would present more problems and complications. The first problem that comes to mind are the amounts in the wallets. |

Take a look: https://cryptonotestarter.org/Issue isn't forking, it's getting devs and investors behind a coin and actually making the coin worth something (both in features and $$$). Not an easy task. |

I think AEON it's a very good profitable CPU miner coin. Ok, I will try to make myself clear. I can mine AEON with my hardware and profitabitily margin is about 24 AEON per day. If I mine more - it's profitable. If less - Monero is more profitable, I can mine Monero, sell it, buy AEON and have more amount comparing direct mining. In May I had 120 coins per day, mining was 2-3 times more profitable than Monero. In August I had 12-15 AEON so monero mining gave me 2x more. |

Monero is more profitable for GPU mining right now for sure, but for CPU mining they are dead even as of today (based on an overclocked Ryzen 1700X). Until recently Monero wasn't even close to being as profitable for CPU mining on my personal hardware.

You don't have to start from scratch but use existing blockchain instead. That is what smooth might be doing right now, but it does not mean it was going to be very easy. Or is it? How long would it be to change the code from a 2mb scratch pad to 1, and to change the algorithm to cryptonight-light? Also consider that smooth is working alone and part time on the project. |
