Hello,
Since block 961340, my internal blockchain is no longer updated.
I am using the current cmd-version 0.12.0.0 and have re-downloaded the blockchain with the current version

Below the status message:

2018-05-30 14:17:33.663 [P2P3]  INFO    global  src/cryptonote_protocol/cryptonote_protocol_handler.inl:310     [176.9.117.76:11180 OUT] Sync data returned a new top block candidate: 961340 -> 962048 [Your node is 708 blocks (1 days) behind]
SYNCHRONIZATION started
.....
.....

2018-05-30 14:24:26.283 [P2P3]  INFO    global  src/cryptonote_protocol/cryptonote_protocol_handler.inl:310     [24.179.130.232:11180 OUT] Sync data returned a new top block candidate: 961340 -> 962049 [Your node is 709 blocks (1 days) behind]
SYNCHRONIZATION started

and so on....

I have done this also with a backup and it stops syncing with block 961340. Is there a known problem?

Merge mining is a bullshit, second coin worth nothing, a bonus. Scammy pools like minergate will claim all shit and dump on exchanges, their customers are retards and whole business is conversion of idiotism to fortune. Learned from VTC + Monocle, second coin goes to zero.

Only price can save from 51 for now, so buy as much as you can afford to multiply by 10 to attract more GPU miners /s.

I don't think this is an absolute. For coins that have a solid userbase (Doge) or coins with a specific or unique usecase (that is actually used, not Namecoin) (Rootstock) merge-mining doesn't seem to be a negative. I'm not saying merge mining is a good idea here, but I'd say Aeon is closer to Doge than Monocle (which was launched expressly to be merged toy chain).

Tell me, will the algorithm be changed in June? Can the miners be discarded?

Doge already almost mined out AFAIK, make sense to be an LTC slug being in a danger of 51% from scrypt LTC miners due to low block reward and price.
And Doge is so stupid since day 1 also, mostly held by people who really can afford to lose it all, so no panic dumps.

Buying as much as we can would also be a big risk for us. We are not whales like americanpegasus, who can move the price in the direction he wants.

Also buying would not assure enough hashpower comes in to make it safe from a 51% attack.

Reading the first 5 posts on this thread is just funny. They criticize this coin but look what it is now.

Baikal is releasing a new 480KH/s cryptonight-light miner.  Is there going to be a PoW algorithm change?

Ok, let's wait for the fork.

Beautifully said: "Aeon is not a cryptocurrency. It's a way of life."I want to get more information about the project, its goals and objectives, but the Roadmap is still in development. I'll keep an eye out for updates. Perhaps there will be something revolutionary!

I downloaded and installed the new version of Aeon, on Ubuntu 64 bit, and downloaded the blockchain with out any issue.

I used "./aeon-wallet-cli --restore-deterministic-wallet"

I used my original aeon seed words that I have used since the beginning, it seemed to work and it has the same wallet address, the same view key but different seed words in the output after the wallet is restored than I used to restore it.?  Huh

Is that the expected result?

Currently doing the first refresh from the beginning and its not done yet.

EDIT: It seems to work ok, shows transactions now.

The format for the seed words has been updated with the rebase. The format of the old seed with 24 words (now deprecated) is referred to as "EnglishOld" and has a different set of words than the new format with 25 words called "English" (see https://github.com/aeonix/aeon/blob/master/src/mnemonics/english_old.h vs https://github.com/aeonix/aeon/blob/master/src/mnemonics/english.h).

The new format also supports multiple languages. You can choose a different language for the seed words by typing 'set seed language' in aeon-wallet-cli.

Does anyone know how to fix the aeon-gui wallet background? It's all garbled text or code in the background that makes it really hard to use it.  The Monero GUI wallet was the same the last time I used that too.

Interestingly DOGE has a tail reward and LTC does not (instead it uses the fast exponential decline to zero like BTC) so at some point things will reverse and DOGE will have the higher block rewards! (Assuming both are still around.)

As far as I can see in the readme of Monero GUI (https://github.com/monero-project/monero-gui), 32 bit builds are still supported except for Windows. The minimum required Qt version is 5.7, so Ubuntu 17.10 or higher is needed in order to build with the packaged Qt installed via 'apt get install'. But you can still build with an older Ubuntu if you install the newer version of Qt manually. Other than that, I don't know of any other system requirements.

Hello Aeon believers,

Our aim is to add value to the whole crypto community by giving the best user experience to analyse cryptocurrencies.

It would be really great help from your side if you can spend 60 seconds of your time and give us your valuable feedback for our two recent updates 1) Snapshot and 2) Colourful interface of Aeon at: https://cointopper.com/coin/aeon

Constructive criticisms are always welcome at CoinTopper.  Thank you!!

Something is definitely going wrong. Please report it in Monero's bug tracker: https://github.com/monero-project/monero-gui/issues/new
