Okay, I'll admit it: I love clusters. But until I realized the profitability of bitcoin mining, I never had a justification for keeping one running.

Now I can't wait to build one.

Did this happen to anyone else?

I've gotta admit, that I love having servers. Makes me feel powerful. Though I don't think mine are powerful enough to do any serious mining. D:

I have a cluster of 200 Apple II computers all networked together to provide 1 Mh/s of mining power.

Yes.  I am obsessed with bitcoin rigs.

I buy and sell GPUs, most 5850s and 7970s.

I have a couple bare bone mining rigs for sale as well.

You are on your way to having a nice cluster there! FPGA makes it look so clean and easy!

Has anyone built an AWS GPU cluster?

Has anyone built an AWS GPU cluster?

That's almost certainly not worth it. The GPU instances use Nvidia cards, which from what I gather are slow at hashing. Plus they cost $2.10/hr ($1500/mn).

Not to hijack the thread, but could someone give me the "explain it to me like im 5" explanation of what im looking at. I understand mining bitcoins with computers and such but these cards confuse me. How are they achieving that type of hash rate at such a low power draw?
