68coin looks really sketchy. The others are good sportsbooks. If you're looking to create your own bets and pool together with friends, check out the recently launched betmoose.com.

Our thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=645747.0

Cheers,

I tried BetMoose out during its late testing phase and I was very impressed with not just the look and feel of the website, but the overall experience from playing. Okay I didn't win my bet, but it's a great idea as there is no house edge, it is purely in the wording of the hosted bet.

Definitely one to watch for the future.

Players should be careful at this time of the year and play with established books. The World Cup is the most popular time for hit and run books. After that it's the Super Bowl. I'm not saying that the new kids on the block are necessarily bad books.  The odds say that some will be out of business shortly after the World Cup walking off with funds. This is not the time to test out new books.

Anonibet and Casinobitcoin. After that I would say Betcoinsports, then Directbet. I wouldn't use any others until after the World Cup.

The founder of BetMoose recently did an exclusive interview:

http://crypt.la/2014/06/11/exclusive-betmoose-founder-adam-king-spills-all-worlds-first-p2p-betting-site/

I doubt that he intends to do a runner with peoples' funds, however that doesn't mean that people shouldn't exercise caution - all sites should be considered a risk - reputation over time counts for something, but everything is a calculated risk.

I'm not here to discredit Betmoose. I'm just talking about the history of bitcoin books. Coinbet also did extensive interviews and advertised on many different media outlets. They went under taking our funds.

Coinbet, Stakebet, Blockbet, Bitcoinsports and Bitbook all seemed like great books at one time but they also have our money.

Assuming that his real name is given out in the interview, then I imagine that it rules out a pre-meditated runner lol.

Of course, circumstances can get the better of betting websites and they face either going bust and still owing, or simply doing a runner and still owing.

Lots of midnight runs after the Super Bowl. Many times you'll see no juice offered or an off line getting all one way action.

Very well said.  There will be billions of dollars gambled JUST on this World Cup which will give many scam artists a tremendous opportunity to get a piece of the pie.  The same thing will happen around the Super Bowl as it did last year.

As of May 31st, CasinoBitco.in has celebrated its 1 Year Anniversary of business!  This is a big achievement for the Bitcoin community as sadly, many of these sportsbooks will be gone before the end of the year.

CasinoBitco.in is publicly traded on Havelock https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=CBTC so legitimacy has never been a concern.

Your money is safe and the odds are great at CasinoBitco.in!

Hey guys, Adam here, need to say a few things:

Peeps is coming from the right place - he's absolutely right to be cautious; the bitcoin gambling scene has indeed experienced some unfortunate events in the past. That said, our team here did not spend months and thousands of hours and money planning, designing and building a unique, custom platform to scam some coin, and we would have launched before FIFA, not right before/during it. Honestly, if we wanted to do that, we would have slapped together a cookie-cutter sportsbook, promised ridiculous deals/match bonuses, and threw up ads everywhere - that isn't what we've done. We would not have bothered to try our best to connect with you on G+, FB, twitter, and a custom reddit. Most importantly, we would have not built out one of the most unique and personable account systems so you can upload your avatar, track your stats, and follow bets you like.

BetMoose is not a 'book', nor do we want to be associated with 'the place to gamble'. Users create their own 'books' (example). We distribute resolutions and do not 'counter' any bets or act as a book keeper or 'house'. This prevents us from ever going bankrupt! Our focus is on running a secure, accessible, reliable and fun P2P predictions site, and YOU as a user (and others) decide what you want to bet on - your way. We're also building tools so that any user can verify where their coin is sitting at all times (proof of reserves).

Its rly great site , it have few issues but i think it will be rly great in the future.
Please let us know what issues you're having using the orange site 'Feedback' box, or our support thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=645790.0

Lastly, I disagree with rating sites based on their length of existence. Case and point: Mt.Gox. It's about how well the site is run and their model, not how long it's been around. If anything, the larger books have more risk of losing/running with coin as they have more incentive to as someone said.

Oh and Peeps; we've actually been live for about 2 months now, usage of the site and payouts can be verified by multiple hero members of this forum who partook in our alpha testing. Hope that counts for something with you.

Betmoose- Feel free to partake in the ratings and review thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448302.980 It would be helpful if a few guys checked in with feedback from Betmoose. Ratings are heavily based on user input. The thread encompasses all books and makes it easy for those that just want to check one thread for updates on all books. Best of luck to you.
