Hello,

I was just wondering, how much effort it takes to implement PoS into a litecoin clone, when it started as pure PoW. I already looked at the sources of PoS coin clones and compared them to Litecoin and it seems the sources are totally different. I am not very skilled at C++, but I can read the code a little and want to experiment with changes on a testnet. Is that even possible or would it need to completely rewrite the daemon?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.
