Two days ago I decided to buy a VPS service from BitcoinVPS and I paid for it right away through Bit-Pay. Then nothing, no VPS and no response of any kind, not from BitcoinVPS nor from Bit-Pay. So have I been scammed?

I filed a ticket with BitcoinVPS some 36 hours ago. No response what so ever. Same with Bit-Pay.

Give them some more time. Even supposedly reputable web hosting companies take weeks to respond.

It's a holiday in the US, and yesterday was sunday...give it some time.

Bit-pay is one of the most solid, trusted bitcoin payment platforms. You certainly weren't scammed by them.

I can't find anything bad about the VPS provider. That is a good sign. People are pretty vocal about scammin' here.

Another 24 hours without a reply. Doesn't quite live up to the promise of instant setup and 60 min response time on tickets.
I also came across this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64168.msg756549#msg756549
So I'm guessing BitcoinVPS seized its operation, but still accepting payment, i.e. turned into a scam and Bit-Pay is funneling the money. Checked just 10 min ago.

Well I guess I've learnt that I have to do a much more thorough in background checks before paying with bitcoins

We are no longer processing payouts on the bitcoinvps account until we clear up the matter.  We've been trying to get in touch with him for a week now and so far no response whatsoever.

I just verified ten minutes ago that BitPay still accepts money on behalf of bitcoinvps.net. Why is that?
Anybody can double check that fact by placing an order with bitcoinvps.net and proceeding to payment.
Also BitPay has failed to reply in any form to a complaint about bitcoinvps.net I sent them February 20th.

I'm aware that BitPay claim that they have stopped *payouts* to BitcoinVps. The question I asked was 'Why do they still accept money on behalf of BitcoinVps'? And they still do, checked today. And what happens to that money? And why doesn't BitPay respond to complaints?

Because of lack of answers the only conclusion I can reach is that BitPay is a scammer as well.
