I got it to work just fine. In a couple years, we will see total mass adoption..

Link for the masses: https://www.google.com/finance?q=CURRENCY%3ABTC
Data from June 11, 2013.
So wait... it looks like it is BTC and not XBT?
And Bitcoin is a currency, not an asset?

Looks like Google and Yahoo are making the decision for us - BTC over XBT. They can always change at a later date (if ISO rules that XBT is the chosen abbreviation), but I'd say momentum is on the side of BTC, and now XBT is dead.

Personally, I think this is a good thing. Since neither was an official designation, maybe BTC will be made official by ISO, and the government of Bhutan will just have to stay away from issuing a "coin" or "convertable peso" or "colon" or anything starting with a "C".

More likely, they'll come up with a Digital designation, like D-BTC. With alts coming out 3 a day, we'll eat up the Xxx designations too quickly. There have probably already been more than 262 alts.

No need to worry about the alts eating up all the 3-letter abbreviations, most of them will not even survive long enough to be standardized by any any institution.
