Member hashnine is sending me private messages talking about a bounty being put on my head and then followed it up with another saying he's not joking about a bullet going in my head.  Huh

This is related to DRK coin.

He doesn't seem to like the competition of XC and started today when I quoted him calling XC a scam! He decided to send me private messages which I have ignored. Death threats should not be acceptable. The alt coin forum does attract a fair amount of nutjobs so I would appreciate a response from the site admins about this.

I have of course notified them earlier today but since then I've heard nothing and now more messages in my inbox from this wacko.  Huh

I think the policy should be banning users who make such threats. Everyone can say just about anything on these forums... but such threats shouldn't go without consequence in my opinion.

Ignore him and try to put him on the ignore list for the PM, PM Theymos or any Global Mod for assistance.

People who make death threats over the internet are nothing but cowards.

Ignore them - they are all talk.

You're more likely to be struck by lightning or win the lottery.  Legitimate hits are a very rare thing in America, and probably approaching non-existent in the geek world.  Just ignore the clown and don't provoke him and he'll likely go away. In the gambling world people loan out 10s of thousands of dollars all the time and when people get stiffed, no one even gets punched in the face.  So forget about it...

Just report the PMs to the admins using the link at the bottom of the message and just ignore the hollow threats.

+1 Don't pay any attention to them, there isn't a need for any bans if we have a proper block function.

It's only if they start directly interfering with the block function by using a different username or something that they should really be banned I think, even scumbags deserve freedom of speech, that's how you know they're scumbags Tongue

Wow, look at this big guy! Being all superior making death threats online. All because of a coin? It sounds like a six year old getting angry because Roller the Dinosaur betrayed him to go to Rockey the Polar Bear.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I've received 6 private messages from this guy now Roll Eyes Some of them v weird. I'm not responding to him and I think he's given up.

I agree it's probably just another internet tough guy. But hinting at a bounty being put on my head is a bit much. If I stop posting on the forums, you all know why...

Don't worry bro. you won't be dead, unless your death time has came, this is another issue.

It's easy to block him from sending you PMs.

If what he did to you is true, then DING-DING dumbass, you don't start sending death threats. In some countries or states, it's even illegal just to do that. And getting that mad over someone online is good. Bravo, sir.

Wow...that's pretty harsh.   Though it is unlikely that he'd ever be able to find you even if he was inclined to carry out those threats.

Still, annoying to deal with crazy people.

I deleted his threats in this thread and took care of him, but just block him, don't just let him pm you then complain about it when you can stop it yourself. If he posts it, then report it we'll deal with it.

Just so people don't get the wrong idea, I called him a loser in a private message after his final message to me that said I would be put in a coffin. I then blocked him. I had put him on ignore a couple of messages previously but realised you do need to actually go into pm settings and block them (a mod had told me that, but I was lazy and thought ignore was the same thing). That is the only private message I ever sent him.

And the post where I "insulted everybody" is when I quoted him on the forum calling XC a scam coin (no insults or bad language).

Things do get a bit heated in the alt coin forum and I've had disagreements before but these private messages were taking it to a new level

Thanks to the mods it's been sorted now. And thanks to everyone in this topic.

Is there not also major laws being broken by what we can all assume is a 6yo kid when you make death threats at people online/or in real life?
