I've noticed a load of bitcoin blackjack games, but I can't find a single one with any side-bets? Anyone know of any?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

There aren't any, if you find some let me know.

Here's why: All those side bets? Match the Dealer, Double Action etc... they're patented/copywrited by companies like Shufflemaster (they supply casinos with all their stuff). And currently NO online casinos will offer them because they don't want to mess those laws.

Right? I was really sad when I found that out too, the side bets are like the best.
Casinos with the betsoft software offer a couple blackjack games with sidebets, but they have really lame rules so I never play them. They're not like the ones you'll find in a real casino.

Blackjack with side bets? Is that similar to having a surrender button? That's what's also missing from the tables I play on.

Some Casinos in the real world will offer an additional bet to be placed along with your main bet for the hand. Like Match the Dealer (Match one of your cards to the dealers up card and win; normally 3 or 4:1 for nonsuited match, and anywhere 9 to 19:1 for suited match, just depends on which casino your at.)

One at my local casino has a sidebet where you get paid out based on your 2 cards and the dealer's 1, making a 3 card poker hand. So much fun.
