Wow, this are really incredible days. 6 weeks ago this coin was close to be death.
But the news from Japan have been really the trigger.
It took some days until the markets have realized this.
I'm curious where this bull-market will end.

Will NEM now overtake Nxt?

For people saying this is a pump it's utter bs. Watch the pattern on poloniex. Some dudes try to FUD and shake out weak hands, after every signifcant rise the whales make a splash so people will sell in panic after which they buy up all the XEM to a new higher level. If you don't have a long term strategy and vision you are going to get played. I would say NEM is better than all the other crypto projects out there, better than bitcoin, better than ethereum, etc. and banks and businesses are now getting familiar with the platform. This project is not like any other, read the white paper if you don't believe me.  Wink

This cracks me up. Every pump in the history of cryptocoins (and probably every other asset), people claim that it's real growth. That their 'coin' is better and people are finally realizing it. I remember this happening to ppc, nxt, quark, bts, counterparty, Dash, Doge and I think meow and kittycoin had the same mind set.

There is no doubt NEM is great. This growth will set a new bottom for xem but there is no way in hell this pump can be maintained. People who held at the start will sell for profit and people who bought a week ago will sell because they have doubled up. Buying at the top of a pump like this becomes more appealing to the greater fool but the fools won't last forever.

People need to buy and forget about tomorrow, but instead of the future in 5 years.

Sick of all the day traders and speculators.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but how much XEM do you get from harvesting? Couldn't find it in the first few pages of this thread or the FAQ. I would like a simple formula, like you'll get x% per day, if you have y XEM vested and you don't do any transactions, but just harvest.

So you harvesting about 300-700 xem per week with 3m acc at least me.
When NODE reward will kick in then you should get about 30 000-100 000/week per supernode today is about ~35 supernode registered
depends on your luck off course too NODE reward is not constant depends on luck too.
Long time ago i have tried count those numbers

if those are *.bat files, it might help to open them with a text editor (notepad.exe, or Notepad++), and add

Code:
pause

at the bottom of the file, below all other commands.

Hi.  There are no set block rewards like in Bitcoin people get 25 BTC.  The block maker in NEM only collects the fees.  Those of course can vary a lot depending on a person's luck.  My best block was 1000 XEM when a spammer was attacking the network (NEM performed well, I got richer, the spammer just lost money).  My worst block is 0, which I get some daily.

This is one of my accounts.  http://chain.nem.ninja/#/account/NBORHHYEOFQJSJFD3PZW7EUGNUR5JFPO3T5IGZBX/762069

I put 100,324 and took out 396, so basically I put in 99,928.  Right now that account has a balance of 102,541 so I made basically 2,613 harvesting on that account.  But actually it was more because I think I have paid some transaction fees and messages and things like that.  That account was funded on April of 2015.  I can't say that it was always harvesting in the last 9 months.  For sure sometimes I have had my node down at times, sometimes for a week or two, but generally I can guess it has probably 8 months of harvesting on it total.  So I can say I have made a little over 2.6% in 8 months on that account.

All of that information can be confirmed through the link above very clearly.  As far as if that is good or bad compared to other accounts that size, I'm not really sure, but after 8 months, it should be averaging out I guess.

I would like to mention though that we are now testing Supernodes.  Those will be nodes that are given rewards outside of harvesting. A person has to bond 3 million XEM to their node, but the XEM is always under their control and can be released at anytime.  For more information, please see https://forum.nem.io/t/nem-supernode-rewards-program/1735/24

Here is the tutorial for stand alone.  http://blog.nem.io/windows-installation-guide-standalone/

If the command prompt is appearing and disappearing there is definitely something making it crash.  It is important to make sure you have Java updated.  That could cause it.

If you messed up the config files that could do it too.

If you run the command prompt with commands to start NEM, you can see the exact error.

If you want to post a screen shot of your NIS config file (don't show any private key) in the Slack chat or your error reports, somebody could help you too that way.  The Slack invite link is in my signature.

Market volume for the last 5 days have been at least $500K. There have been no whales in NEM and therefore the conclusion is, either there has been a big player pumping it, or NEM is undergoing a realistic price discovery phase, given its way undervalued price in the first place.

My question then is, would someone risk putting in $500K to pump up an unknown coin and possibly end up being a bag holder? Why not pump another unknown coin instead? Hence, pumping is quite unlikely. It appears to be a general rise, coupled with panicked buying, and awareness of NEM, with one feeding the other in a sustained rise.

Fall in price, it will, but I doubt we will ever see the days of 30 Sat again, unless there is a big calamity in NEM, or someone who is so generous to sell down $500K's worth of XEM and be a Santa clause.

I would like to run a supernode, but for "Joe Average", the prodedure is to complicated.
So i will wait for a "supernode one click installer button" for the stand alone client

Almost a year passed since the launch, and almost 2 years since the firs ANN. I don't think so that it's a "realistic price discovery phase". That would happen in the first few months. The price was at 60-70 for many months, so we can say that what is going on now its pure pump.

A lot has happened in the last month, to justify a price rise.  Although most of it happened in Japan, people who did their homework got rewarded.

There will always be speculators and people looking for quick gains.  But I'm sure NEM has picked up a handful of investors with all the companies experimenting with Mijin.

If this was a 'pure pump' then price will quickly fall as quickly as it rises.  So the price should quickly come back down to the 30's again.  Time will tell.

Price discovery in ongoing and dynamic, look at any stock chart (ex. GOOG) & it will show you that.  As new info comes, price adjusts.

The marketcap is still relatively small at ~5MM.  Compared to ETH's 120MM it can rise 24x more or around ~3500 sats which to me is very possible.   I plan on holding as the devs & team have pushed through & proven they are committed to this project.

NEM   NanoWallet   SuperNodes   Apostille   Landstead   Catapult   Mijin
