what sever(s) can I use for remote server. After every update I have to download the whole blockchain again. copying .db file doens't seem to work anymore.

Copying the file should still work but there also one on bob: http://bob.nem.ninja/nis5_mainnet.h2.db.zip (pretty recent i think)
You tech theoretically you any remote NIS as your server. There is no way for them to steal your founds. They could feed you bad data so maybe stick to the supernodes when the reward programm is up and running.
You can checkout the lightwallet and see which servers are listed there. Those should all be trustworthy.

Thanks, found them here http://chain.nem.ninja/#/nodes/ working fine now. For a next update, do I uninstall / install, or can I install / update over the old version?

Installing it over the old version can work and it doesn't hurt to try. If you encounter problems though the first thing you should try then is to uninstall all of it and re-install.

I created a new wallet in lightwallet. Where can I get the private key if I want to import this wallet into another wallet?

No such function in the lightwallet righ now. Depending on what options you chose when creating the new wallet you may or may not only need the password though.

If you please have a look at the two or three last pages you may find your answer (hint: antivirus issue?). But, anyway, support is usually at https://forum.nem.ioWink

Off topic. Approximately how long does it take to harvest something? and is there a way to check if you are really harvesting?it has been more than 24hrs after my vested balance was >10k and I haven't harvest anything with 0,82% importance, is that normal?

although it is necessary to have 50-60k to be less time and succeed in the catch block and so conceived in the system of the NEM, although the planned harvesting at 10,000 NEM and the probability that the catch block too, but here we have to say that the importance of the account and receive blocks accounts with a large number of coins ( now probably accounts more 1x mln ), and that here at this stage the probability to catch a block with 10k is equal to 0, but to catch the empty blocks ( blocks without pay ) can be obtained, although, but the chance is 0.80% on catch block is not bad and that probably from 24-48h it will take time for this

Awesome, thanks! Atm my vested balance is 25k and my balance around 160k.

2 more things I noticed

1)http://nodeexplorer.com/ has currently 0 nodes. Not sure why

2) Does NEM's POI favours exchanges such as Poloniex with more importance than an active user or is there something that avoids exchange to control the harvesting? I read the white paper but this still not clear to me.

Cheers

I can't decipher everything but I'm pretty sure the .82% is incorrect. Even if the importance score - which is in ‰ btw, not % - would translate 1:1 into likelyhood of harvesting, not all XEM are harvesting.

1) been like that for some time. Site is broken appearantly.

2) Nope, nothing that kepps exchanges from harvesting which makes it even more important that people don't keep their XEM on exchanges. You can be active like a mad man you're not going to outweigh THAT kind of balance.

So, are you saying that your XEM balance in an exchange counts as if theirs?

ANY currency (even USD), the moment you send to an exchange (bank, whatever) the money is no longer yours (you only have a promise from the receiving institution - IOU). Mind that...

Yes, of course it does. And you should consider it at risk since most exchanges don't even utilize mullti-sig (in fact does anyone know of an exchange that does use it ?) because they don't appear to give a shit about security until it's too late.

Thank you for the reply.
So I have the delegated harvester goin now. does this mean I can shut the computer down now
and it will still harvest for me.?

Question dev team When using delegated harvesting.
would it be havesting still even when my comp is shut down?

There has to be a node somewhere harvesting on that key.  If somebody else running a node is willing to harvest for you (which is pretty easy for some people) then yes, you can turn your computer off.

If you are running an NIS on your home computer, once you have it running and harvesting for your account, it is safe to turn off the NCC and close your browser.

OK Thanks a lot for the help.
off topic any chance we can get a mobile app soon or maybe even be able to harvest with our smart phone.
