Please tell me which exchange is the best place to buy NEM at the moment? I would be grateful if you would give me some advice. I want to replenish my portfolio.

Do you have a bittrex fully verified the account?

If you have an account then that will be the best option because their fees also not high.

I bought most of my NEM from bittrex and never had any issues either in deposit or withdraw. But remember that if you don't have a fully verified account then they may not allow you to withdraw your coins.

I dont have full verified account and i still sell buy xem and btc. Daily limit to withdraw btc or xem is 0.4 btc wich is not much but my monthly trade is less then 0.3 btc so am fine with that.

Also full verified accounts cant trade fiat and margin trade and have daily limit to 100 BTC.

Long back I was also trading with the small amount with an unverified account but one day suddenly they didn't allow me to withdraw my coins. The total worth was around 0.1 BTC and when I contacted their support team they ask me to verify my account first then I can withdraw my coins. Luckily my account got verified within seconds or almost instantly after uploading my documents.

So if your using unverified account with bittrex then be careful they may ask you to verify your account at any time.

Yes, Bittrex doesn't have fiat trading feature.

To be precise, if you have unverified account, they won't allow you withdraw, but they will probably allow you to deposit your funds   Shocked (at least it was possible some time ago, and I've not cheked recently) be careful with them. NEM is listed on Binance and Poloniex, but also on many smaller exchanges https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/nem/#markets

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Has Nano wallet changed from NanoWallet.exe to start.html which uses java script ?   tests.js??

version 1.4 contains exe, but 2.1.2 contains html

https://blog.nem.io/nanowallet-tutorial/

When there has been talked to move from java to C++, I thought that exe was those first C++ implementations Smiley

Edit:  tutorial doesnt mention java. Isn't java 8 anymore a requirement?

NanoWallet has always been JavaScript. There's a compiled versione too to avoid browser incompatibilities.

Java 8 is a requirement for NIS, not NanoWallet. It will go away with Catapult with is C++.

Hey, guy, use Bittrex, it's the best. And I also can you advise to buy Credits (CS) because it is blockchain of new generation and Its team always shows us results. They already achieved 400K+ TPS in their Alpha, now they released pre-Beta version which you can test, make some transactions and so onyou can

Your question is way too broad. There is space for both the projects. Choosing NEM over ETH for what? Payments? Smart contracts? Tokens? ICOs?

Any evidence or proof for that ? I'm afraid that for several weeks now (after the marketcap crash due to [probably?] Coindesk hack) is the NEM price clearly driven by BTC movements and all the news like Catapult beta, changes in NEM.io foundation etc., have almost no impact at all. But to be honest, it's not just NEM issue, almost all altcoins are just "copy&paste" up and downs of bitcoin price...

I really appreciate seeing these letters posted on BitcoinTalk in the NEM thread. I would say the most important thing for the top NEM team in terms of communications is to make a point to post any relevant announcements on the thread here. I'm on all the Telegram channels but I honestly don't have time to follow them consistently, and I rarely go to the NEM forum because it would be the tenth or 11th forum I'm supposed to be checking regularly. For better or worse, BitcoinTalk is the go to place for up to date cryptocurrency news on developments for whatever coins you're into, and I think it's important for the NEM team to honor that and at least keep this thread updated with written announcements. They can just add updating this thread to whatever marketing assignments the marketing team has. I do not expect that the NEM developers would hang out here much or answer questions, but I do want to at least see important information that would be relevant to me as an investor posted here. Thank you!

A Message from Kristof Van de Reck
Nem.io
Interim President

The Path Forward

"Dear NEM Community,

The past few days I have watched our community share excitement as well as hesitation over the recent announcement regarding Lon and Jeff stepping aside in their roles to take on new challenges as advisors to the NEM Foundation. I am thankful for their continued contributions to NEM and expect great things to come from them in the future.

I want to share with you some goals as the interim President of the NEM Foundation. I’ve had the opportunity to work closely alongside Lon and Jeff as council member since the inception of NEM.io Foundation; later building out NEM Europe and most recently laying the groundwork for NEM’s Center of Excellence. It is humbling to have earned the trust and support of the Foundation and core devs. My goal is to earn that same trust with our global community in the role as interim President.

The Blockchain landscape has changed dramatically since the inception of the NEM.io Foundation and now is a perfect opportunity for us to re-evaluate our approach and make improvements. It’s important to me that I work with you, the NEM community, to listen to your concerns as well as your hopes for NEM’s future.

I want you to know that I am working closely with our regional heads to better improve communication, transparency and resource allocation so NEM is primed for Catapult’s upcoming release as well as the future roadmap. We have a lot of work ahead of us but I’m up to the challenge and we have the full support of the global NEM team.

NEMbers, there is only one path — forward.

Thank you for your continued support of the NEM Foundation."

I agree with cryptonit. NEM is worlds better than ETH in terms of things like smart contracts, ease of use, etc. I have a small stake in ETH (only because my daughter was interested in playing cryptokitties, but quit after we couldn't make it work after a week of trying--just one example of how ETH really doesn't work well), but I have a hard time with the wallets (and I've tried several), doing simple things like sending ETH, backing up the wallet, restoring from a backup, all stuff that is routine and relatively easy on most other wallets. I own an ETH based token and the issuer has yet to be able to successfully operate the smart contract associated with it. And I'm no crypto-newbie. I've run all kinds of different wallets but still can't figure out ETH. If ETH were my first experience with cryptocurrencies I'd likely quit and never look back saying it's way too hard for intelligent people to figure out. NEM, on the other hand, works pretty much as expected. It's not the easiest wallet to run or keep updated (DMD Diamond gets that award) but it works and anyone with reasonable computer experience can figure it out. So NEM absolutely gets my vote on this one.

Couldn't agree more here.. Eth is so complicated.. I had friends holding hundreds of Eth in exchanges, just because they didn't understand how the wallet works.

The only reason they moved it off exchanges is that the value became so high that they forced themselves to understand it.. Took them long enough.

It is very likely that soon bitcoin will go into growth and other coins also. In any case, today's price spike gives a signal.

Bitcoin had a price spike today? I sure missed it. Right now all my coin holdings including BTC are showing red, except for DMD Diamond, which is up some from yesterday.

Your 'soon' could easily be a couple of years away. Be aware and plan your portfolio accordingly.

First NEM-based point-of-sale terminal reveals

Pundi X will ship 20,000 NEM-based XPOS devices

We are excited to unveil a new branch of XPOS smart point-of-sale terminal running solely on the NEM blockchain, called NEM XPOS. The new NEM XPOS device will be connected to the NEM blockchain via XPlugins, the Pundi X Platform API that allows blockchain developers to connect to digital wallets and create smart contract requests.

NEM XPOS device will deliver faster transactions at the physical retail stores. Consumers will be able to conduct multiple NEM-based cryptocurrency transactions via XPOS point-of-sale terminals. This device will assist both the physical retailers and the consumers to do cryptocurrency to fiat or fiat to cryptocurrency transactions faster and easier.

Tokens confirmed to be listed on this brand new NEM XPOS device are XEM, PXSXEM and XAR. There will be more XEM Mosaic tokens to be listed later.

“NEM and Pundi X are working together to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing all blockchain developers and their users — making it accessible for mainstream consumers to use in their daily lives,” commented Lon Wong, former president of NEM.io Foundation. “For the first time, NEM-based tokens will come to the store front for mainstream adoption.”

“When consumers conduct blockchain-based transactions, speed, by all mean, is critical for better user experience, said Zac Cheah, CEO of Pundi X. “That’s why we have started integrating NEM private chain in our pilot XPOS devices in the first place. As NEM platform is growing, it is a natural step for us to launch a NEM XPOS terminal by integrating NEM for both public and private chain to meet the market demand.”

Pundi X will produce 20,000 units of NEM POS devices and deliver to NEM Foundation and partners.
