I think that public chain of catapult will be out

sometime these fail

I'm starting to wonder myself. The message from the developers is that there's a huge amount of work left to do and not very many people to do it. And they haven't begun to ponder how to migrate either.

You seem to be part of the community, what exactly is catapult? How long have they've been working on it?

Dont want another incident like coincheck to happen. All security options should be considered, and multi-sig is one that is ready for use within the NEM blockchain.

The biggest issue is the commentatorship in the cryptonews. It isn´t the problem inside at the different NEM channals, that´s actually better now, but outside of them.
Look at consensus 2018, no comment at coindesk or in any other ("bigger") newsportal for example.
How much aricels about other blockchainprojects can you read every day.  Huh

Coindesk never, ever mentions certain coins and NEM has always been one of them. They're owned by Barry Silbert's Digital Currency Group so they have a vested interest in suppressing awareness of projects they don't have a stake in. Quite a few others have the same complaint.

That's putting it very diplomatically. Their lack of coverage on certain projects is beyond frustrating from the perspective of a reader who might want to know what is really going on in the Cryptocurrency industry.

For news that is less biased, I would highly recommend DCE Brief.

Neither PoW nor PoS. It uses Proof of Importance. It is actually PoS combined with a reputation factor. More details here https://blog.nem.io/the-beginners-guide-to-nem/

Is there a roadmap of upcoming developments available? I could not find many information what NEM is planning for the future.

Well that might be one of the reasons that BTC is tanking. But actually the events are not very likely to be really making a great difference at all. I think we needed a correction from the ATH since it can´t just scale to infinity. But no one really knows when the media and the public is picking up bitcoin again and joining for the next run. Exactly the same with all the alts out there

If anyone is wondering about the stability of Bitcoin, you also have to wonder of the stability of the Dollar.

The patterns that take minutes to emerge in Bitcoin usually take days or weeks in the stock/bonds markets.

Very true, security is number one, priority security in order to make the user comfortable, blockchain XEM is very helpful in this job.

Multisignature is a very easy to use and great feature. We still don't know all the circumstances off the hack/inside job or whatever it really was in the end. I really hope there will be some clarity and the other exchanges took it as some sort of lesson for their own hot wallets. I really hope that such an incident won't happen in the future. But I am quite certain since no one, except maybe the foundation holds that huge amount of XEM

You will need to have your own NEM wallet or address to store the XEM; multiple wallets if your prefer, but may be harder to manage. I would also recommend implementing multi-sig account to hold your XEM funds. Doing so you can have multiple NEM accounts manage that one multi-sig account for things like withdrawals.

So they sold so many Bitcoins at all time high, driving down the price, but they will pay the people in Bitcoin now that it's much lower.

Yes multi signature is a great improvement in security. Trezor for example too. The firmware update yesterday enabled NEM on the newest model (Model T) with many other coins. It always works like a charm and is a huge improvement too if someone just wants to use one device
