Great idea. Kudos to =makoto1337 and Rockethead. I have a question though how long will the silver and and gold crowd sale last ? I would buy some silver coins so I don't want to miss the deadline. One idea is to number the coins and run them as a limited edition so make them more attractive to collectors. Yes. it's nice the the NEM community supports closed source companies. I have few prejudices against closed source businesses as long as useful products are made. Coinbase, Bitpay, Bitfinex etc. have been extremely helpful to Bitcoin for example. Nevertheless, the business model has to be clear and private company should have its own private funding. I only speak for myself not for NEM community. That is why we are doing the coin sale, so we don't have to use ecosystem funds. To be honest, though, UP's original intention seems to have been to use some of the 200 stakes for ecosystem dev to create for-profit projects, as he proposed several himself, including an exchange. So it seems like we are going through lots of extra work for nothing, when we could just ask for free money. However, I am one of the people involved and I thought that a crowd sale would be better than relying only on ecosystem funds. If the sale goes well, we won't have to go begging for money from other sources.

Thanks for the confidence in NEM. Seems we are entering the big leagues before we even launch. As dust settles down and progress is made, I think honest people will begin to understand there is a big difference between NEM and most altcoins out there. Indeed, as dumpers sell and move to the next coin, the NEM community is getting filtered. Those who stay are those who understand NEM is a long term project with a tremendous potential. Let's just focus to move forward one step at a time, and after a while, when we'll look around we'll notice we're quite far from where we begun and remarkably close to our next milestone. Nemtastic times lay ahead of us. Cheers.

That is great news. I think smart and honest people should be able to pick up all the signals NEM is sending. This is a very serious project which aims to bring real value to the market. There seems to be an all too common problem even promising altcoins have: they have all specialized in doing a great launch, but enter a stage of stagnation, and eventually decline immediately after that. The reason behind this stagnation and decline is precisely the lack of understanding, action and engagement with the real world. It's fairly easy in comparison to prepare a good launch, and extremely hard to find ways to transition from the launch phase to the phase of real use and engagement with the world. This is the phase at which probably 99% of the altcoins fail. AltNemo could be a bridge toward that phase among other things, by contributing with sustainable efforts and constantly adding value to the project. As long as the business model is clear and separate from NEM, though part of the ecosystem, I think a lot of promising possibilities arise. Keep up the good work guys, it will be worth it.

Actually it should be pretty easy to make mobile wallet for android. Especially after one of upcoming releases. I don't see reason why android wallet wouldn't be open source. But I think altnemo will be targeting iOS.

On the altnemo site two projects are listed: mobile wallet and fast exchange. 1. Will the mobile wallet be open source? 2. Will the Fast Exchange be open source? 1. We haven't decided yet. The first version of the mobile app will be a simple wallet. Future versions will be more complex and have advanced features, so we won't open source that I think. BUT we will provide open API access to our services. 2. No, but the exchange will just be doing order matching. Orders are currently envisioned as coming in from the NEM AE, which will be open source. There is a chance that AltNemo will write open source code for the NEM AE to help get it out faster. Again, open API access will be available. AltNemo is just one of hopefully many entities that will exist in the NEM ecosystem. The NEM system will always be free, decentralized, and open source. The NEM ecosystem will be unregulated, so closed source companies are free to come and use NEM. The principle of equality of opportunity should apply to those who want to create companies in the NEM ecosystem. That is, there should be no monopolies that push out everyone else. Thus even now, if anyone wants to do something in the NEM ecosystem, I would fully support them to do it (so long as they are trustworthy and not a scam).

Hopefully many new companies will come and join the NEM ecosystem. We need as many people involved as possible, because the greater goal is to create a new economy. The average person doesn't come on BTT, so we need companies like AltNemo to go out and "infect" the old economy, so recreate it from the inside. For this we actually have a specific strategy

Just heard about the NEM coins that will be minted at the Perth Mint.... that is big news indeed!
NEM is going to be a hit!
Perth is a very well respected mint. Any buyer can trust the purity of the coins.

I really like how serious you guys are about the vision. This is attitude, that makes difference. Dont rush launching, having coins you can just sell and not use, doesnt bring any real value.
