This coin is dead Sad  1 asic algo and 4 GPU algos, no CPU algo .. total of 2 billion coins ?! No wonder its so cheap, i;ve got some 900k coins and cant break even if i sell all at current price...  FAIL ..
Worst client ever! Takes 2 minutes to start on an i7. 5 minutes when using -rescan arg.  Fresh install/syncing the blockchain takes longer than bitcoin...
Who the fuck are you ? Nothing fucking works, GUI wallet keeps crashing, no standalone solo miner, pools hardly get any blocks (solo instamine in progress, probably gpu farm at it).  I'm out.

This shit coin will never be added to a real exchange, poloniex owner is desperate for new business as he keeps loosng customers due to hacks so he took time to add this shit.. Mintpal ? NEVER. Cryptsy ? NEVER. goodbye monero suckers.

Funny you found that post now, i am in the process of switching all servers to monero!! Damn, i should have kept mining back in May!!!

EDIT: Maybe Shiny picks up once i leave, you never know Smiley Hopefully my bag of 110k coins will net me some profitZ Smiley
Lol nice diversionary tactic. But the proof is there - you are a sockpuppet for the dev. So what features are you going to put into ShinyCoin next?

Wallet Internationalization - Bitcoin QT already has the ability, but as I've changed some things not everything is internationalized.  Someone needs to go through it and make it fully internationalized.  There is a web service that can make it easy, transifex.com
That seems easy enough... I'll take a look.
Alriiiight, I figured out how transifex works and I made the i18n project: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/shinycoin/ .

To translators: All you have to do is go to the link, click "Help Translate 'ShinyCoin'", make a username. I'll approve you, then you can get cracking. I'll update my git branch periodically ( https://github.com/csaftoiu/shinycoin/commits/i18n ), and make pull requests to the main repo when there's a good amount of translations done. Or sunnyprince, you can pull the files yourself also (merge my changes, then use "tx pull -a" to pull new translations).

EDIT: Can test existing translations with the -lang flag, e.g.
    ./shinycoin-qt -lang=zh_CN

@sandor: Mate, I respect your efforts, but I have the impression you are doing it wrong from day 1 and a pile of crap will be incoming at the time the software you have modified (shinycoind, nomp, possibly nomp's stratum server) gets updated. Let's hope you have enough free time to port all those changes soon when this happens.

Apart from that, there are some problems:

1) Someone most probably got ultra cheap coins by using unsupported software. You said it was the banning feature that didn't work as expected. How does the banning feature malfunction explain the successful mining by using an unsupported miner? I assume that your NOMP modifications were the problem. Your modifications are most probably incomplete and need to be reviewed by 3rd parties.  What really happened? Do you have time to explain?

2) The new miner generates a hash every time a share is accepted by the pool. Do you use this hash for verification at the pool level? If yes, do you realize that by doing this you have chained the standalone miner to your modified nomp stratum server code, which is unreleased? If true, this must be the shittiest thing that could happen to the standalone miner. Please correct me if I am wild guessing here.

BTW, the new miner is a bit slower (~34h/m instead of 38.5h/m using 3 ramhog threads). Also '-a ramhog' option does not seem to work any more.

Not sure what you are getting at... NOMP hasn't been updated in ages, looks like the main developer stopped caring about it and is working on cryptonote pool. And I've already ported the changes from Shinycoin right after it got updated. Of course I know how to use git.

1) Let's make one thing clear: the individual you're speaking of had all his shares flagged and deleted, he did not get paid anything from the fake shares. He was using an exploit that normally would be a waste of time if NOMP's banning system actually fucking worked, also take note that he rotated IPs every 60s. In short: he was spamming the server so many invalid shares that once in a while a share would pass though the hash check, effectively DDoS'ing the pool and stealing it's (= the hardware the pool runs on) hashing power.

2) Not at all, it shouldn't affect other pools using shinyminer. This is just passing extra info for backend pool verification.

3) It's not slower, I fixed the hashing info. It was always adding 1 extra hash to the calculation, which is why it's lower now. I've disabled other algorithms, because there is no point in allowing them. No need to use -a anymore.

BTW, if you have any more questions or concerns, just say here and I'll address them.

Exactly as pasted by him:

Code:
Paid   Unconfirmed   Shares   Invalid shares   Efficiency
                                                                                         >>>>>2014.7.7
19.8507 SHC   661.3490 SHC   0.00000121   0.00000000    100%

Paid   Unconfirmed   Shares   Invalid shares   Efficiency
                                                                                         >>>>>2014.7.8
19.8507 SHC   66.3490 SHC   0.00000121   0.00000000    100%

Those 19.8 SHC have been mined using the legit miner?

Yes, that was paid out before he started using the scrypt cpuminer.

Yes, that was paid out before he started using the scrypt cpuminer.

So, then, the addition of that backend pool verification is not related to that incident. True?

It's not directly related to that, no. The fix to the banning code is.

I still see recent commits.

What I am basically saying is that the way you work behind closed doors without any explanation/changelogs of any kind cannot be trusted. I am as clear as possible. You might be the best dude, but I cannot trust your service. We most probably see these things differently. Smiley

2) Not at all, it shouldn't affect other pools using shinyminer. This is just passing extra info for backend pool verification.

If it sends extra information to the stratum server by default, how can you be so sure there won't be a problem with other pool software? Also, why was that verification needed?

Last commit is 17 days ago, how is that recent?

I am not sure what you mean. The miner is open source, that's all you really need for trust. The block explorer can be used to verify if my pool is legit.

So explain to me what you want to know?

This time for real, current shiny diff. is my witness, all time low at 0.00002797. Just cant afford to mine a worthless coin. I'll be back when/if it hits an exchange.

Not lying my friend, got bills to pay. Shiny is now a risky investment. 10% of total coin supply has been mined yet it is not even available on exchanges.

I'll be back if things get better, hopefully my bag of 110k will be worth something.
